There is no such thing as a bare minimum. When the tank fills up, the float pulls the valve open, and when the tank empties, the float pushes it shut. It isn't closed by any springs.

Piston does not move smoothly inside the piston shaft, which is too tight, making it impossible to shut off!.
The parts for connecting the float rod and float, including the bolt and lock nut, were all missing and were not included with the valve.

This valve allows air to pass through it. At my car wash, I've been using these valves without issue for years. Even after replacing the rubber parts, the leak continues. I'm not pleased at all. I would not recommend this product.
