The fittings are 1/4" push connect and the brand is Sharkbite.
Everything comes with the package. For my sink, I needed to purchase a fitting to connect it to the water supply. However, if you're using the water line from your refrigerator, you're good to go.
To mount it, you must first drill the tank. I'm not sure if there's one that's smaller. I'll have to look into it.

It was purchased for the purpose of making a water. This is a fantastic item, to say the least. It was purchased for the purpose of providing water to my Westies. I bought a stainless steel bread pan for $4 and mounted this to the side of it, then simply connected 1/4 inch tubing to our fridge's water line, and the dogs have access to fresh water all of the time. This is a wonderful piece. I only wish I had done this before buying a $40 water bowl because mold grows underneath the mechanism and is difficult to clean. With everything out in the open, I'll be able to detect any mold growth. After a month, there has been no sign of mold.
I don't have an aquarium, so I'm not using these. I have an 8x10 greenhouse and am an avid armature gardener. I use a capillary matt to feed seedlings. The matt is dipped into a drywall pan that must be kept full of water, but the water must be turned off once the pan is full. The water supply is connected to the float valve, which is installed in the tank. It performs admirably. I have four of them in my system.
Plastic is what this is. My brass RO float had finally corroded through, and since reverse osmosis (RO) water can attack any metal other than stainless steel, this was the obvious choice for a replacement for my RO tank.
During the installation, I noticed that the ball valve's threaded portion was heavily leaking. To stop it from leaking, I had to use several layers of Teflon tape and loctite. The shu. I had to buy little pins to lock the hoses in place to keep it from leaking, because the shut-off valve was also leaking. The ball valve is adjustable, so you can set it to stop filling at your desired point once you've worked out these issues.
It was nice and quiet. It was simple to set up and I would strongly recommend it. One wish is for the right-angle piece to be able to freely rotate - I had no choice but to take whatever angle it ended up at because if I didn't tighten it all the way, it would leak.
This isn't something you should buy. When I did a fit just to see if it would leak, the extra elbow where it threads into the ball valve was an extra point where it leaked. As a result, I Teflon taped it. Let me tell you something. The ball valve was completely dysfunctional. If you don't set a timer, your house will be flooded. I was under the impression that I was receiving good value for my money. Instead, you'll be harmed by water. I'm sorry I didn't install it sooner because I'm unable to return it now. My return date has passed me by by seven days.
(Isn't it true that we're dealing with first-world issues? ) and it's a cheap and easy way to connect to the fridge's ice maker line and keep the reservoir full at all times!.
I drilled a hole in the curved back of the reservoir to fit the float, and it took a little patience to do so. To bend the arms on the float to fit, I heated them with a lighter. I ran the plastic line through the back of the cabinets and through the counter top right behind the coffeemaker after about 10 minutes of tinkering, and it fits perfectly. I connected the tee to my filtered water and installed a shutoff valve inline, so it now fills automatically. My purchase has made me extremely happy. Except for teflon tape, I had everything I needed. 5 stars!.
