Male pipe threads are found on this item. Male hose threads will be found at the end of your hose. A female/female adapter with the proper threads would be required.
Mine is in the skimmer of my koi pond. Is there a skimmer or filtration system in your pool? If that's the case, I believe you'll be able to put it to good use. Not sure.
This item has an approximate flow rate of 7. When connected to a water source with a pressure of around 60 psi, the flow rate is 6 gpm (gallon per minute).

I used to have one that worked okay, but it had a much smaller float - However, because it never completely shut off and had a low flow, there could be some minor fluctuations in water level, which I didn't want in my 2500 gallon fish pond with a surface area of about 175 square feet. br>br>This one has a larger flow volume and will completely shut off. The larger float and longer lever arm of the larger units ensure that enough upward pressure is applied to completely close the valve. It ratchets rather than being infinitely adjustable for the level, and that's been fine so far for getting the water level close enough to where it's within a 1/4" or so of overflowing if I want it that close (I usually allow 1/2" or so). br>br>It was simple to put together, and thread seal tape prevented any leaks. It appears to be well-made, and barring any mishaps, I expect it to last for years, as do even the smaller ones. If I needed it, I'd buy it again.
Using this float, I created a self-filling pond. It fit perfectly through a 1x6 board drilled with a 1" hole, leaving just enough thread for a garden hose to pass through. My garden hose end was wrapped in about 6 turns of Teflon tape, and the threads worked perfectly. I don't have any leaks because I only use gravity feed from a rain barrel. br>br>It was very simple to set up, and I no longer have to worry about the pond level. I also installed an automatic fish feeder, which means the pond is now self-sufficient.
It's a lot better than the old one. For a chicken watering system, it fits in a 5 gallon bucket.
It's just so simple to fill something up. The adjustability is useful because if you have a high psi pressure, the thing will tend to keep running, but if you adjust the arm correctly, this will not happen. I've used it full blast and low psi so far and haven't had any issues. However, as with all things plastic with threads, I suspect the more I mess with it, the shorter it will last. So set it up and try not to mess with it too much lol still would buy 10 more if I needed them.
This float valve is of excellent quality. The GPM flow, on the other hand, is significantly lower than the product description suggests. It does have a 3/4" input, yes. Water, on the other hand, flows through a 1/8" hole (roughly). It's great for topping off a reservoir, but not so much for filling one. GPM is most likely nil. At 60 psi, the flow rate is 5 GPM. I returned the item because of the flow, not because of the quality.
This was installed on a pasture waterer for cattle. The original one that came with the Waterer was far inferior to this one. F- was awarded to the original. r to restock - This one is three times as fast as the previous one - It took a long time for the cattle to adjust - When it comes to water, however, they form a line. The line is swiftly moving.
I used it for my aquaponic system, and I no longer have to worry about replenishing the tank, and I can also go on a trip without having to worry about it. It really works.
For my swamp cooler, I purchased this. I've never been able to get a float to work before, but I bought this along with an adaptor for the swamp cooler line and was pleasantly surprised when it did. I'm a girl, and my swamp cooler made me feel like one, and I adore it for helping me get through the summer. For the sum of ten dollars I'd buy another one if the opportunity arose.
