Questions & Answers

I'm looking for a float for a tank that will get quite hot, probably around 90 degrees Celsius. Is this a viable solution?

It could work, but I'd go with a metal one.

For large commode tanks only, a quick fix for internal leaking toilet tank is available
5/5

My old commode was in desperate need of repair. The existing tank ball was a bit on the small side. When the ball was lifted, the shut-off valve opened. Perhaps due to corrosion, the lever did not always close completely. To get the water to stop the internal leak and waste of water, I'd have to remove the lid from the commode tank and lift the lever. So I bought this 6-inch-diameter ball, which solved my problem. The existing tank ball had a diameter of approximately 4 inches. The 6 inch ball has a lot more buoyancy than the 4 inch ball. lifts the closed door with a stronger arm As a result, the internal leak in my commode has stopped. The water is completely turned off. This 6 inch ball will most likely not fit inside a modern toilet commode water tank due to its size (it's too big). However, I have an older toilet with a larger tank. This 6" ball fits, but only just. Someone should make a ball with a diameter of 5 1/2 inches for me. They do sell a square/rectangular solid shaped ball that would most likely fit and provide additional buoyancy. br>br>This 6 inch ball also crowds the inside of the tank, causing me to flush the toilet with less water; It also prevents all of the water from flowing out of the flapper hole in the bottom of the tank, implying that the flapper is under constant downward pressure to keep it from leaking.
