I'm only using one for my pump system, and it's at the vertical rise of the pumps. The other is a backup.
This is going to assist. Simply double-check the connections for tightness and to see if the hot water returns to the check valve. If this happens, double-check that the spring clamps haven't been harmed by the heat.

I'm always amazed at how seemingly insignificant items can improve dramatically when purchased in good condition. My sump runs a lot during a long storm, which usually happens at night, so I used to be able to hear the banging even when the sump was turned off (the sump is basically beneath the master bedroom). The noise I thought was coming from the sump turned out to be coming from the checkvalves. br>br>I replaced my previous checkvalves with these after a friend advised that they were prone to sticking. My sumps are almost silent now as they cycle. A simple click is all it takes. I'm not sure how long they'll last, but I'm very pleased with their performance so far; During a storm, there will not be a loud bang every minute. This is fantastic.
First, my main pump had a spring and ball (as far as I could tell) that worked properly for a few weeks before suddenly stopping, causing water to flow back into the sump pit. I removed it and checked its operation which seemed OK but after reinstalling it again, the same problem arose so I thought I would try the Zoeller and have 100% been 100%% My secondary pump had a check similar to the Zoeller's in operation, but it was screwed into the pump's outlet flange. It stopped the backflow, but it was followed by a loud "water hammer" effect that appeared to be damaging the PVC pipework at times. The problem was solved almost immediately after installing the second Zoeller about a foot above the sump pit. Both have been up and running for several weeks now in Ohio's wettest February on record, running nearly 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with no problems. They are simple to install and will be simple to remove if any issues arise, which I do not expect. I am completely satisfied with these and would purchase them again without hesitation!.
To replace ten-year-old failing valves, I purchased them and had them installed by a plumber. They were quiet, but there was no water in the line above them, so I called the plumber back. they were taken out, placed in a sink, and filled with water They were half empty in fifteen minutes. Water was dripping out of the bottom in a slow stream. I called Zoeller to see if they had been designed. They expressed their concern by requesting photos. I sent them a video as well as a letter. I got a call back right away - said they are 100% defective and the pictured internal parts didn t match what it should have done in the right way they should have done in the right way they should have done They offered to send a new pair if I sent them to them, but I need the pump to work right now. I was upgraded to the Zoeller 30- by Plumber. 0041 from a local hardware store It really works. Returns were handled quickly and efficiently by Amazon.
This is a 1 1/2" check valve made of "standard" plastic. I had previously bought a Zoeller 2" check valve and was very pleased with its metal construction. I expected the same build and quality from this valve. This was supposed to be a replacement for my sump pump's valve. I didn't put it in because it was of comparable quality to the plastic valve that had been in use for the previous 25 years.
This is a dreadful and unattractive device. If your sump pump, like mine, has rough or uneven edges, this is not for you. It will only catch and cause your pump float to catch. Why is it so difficult to make a good check valve, and to add to the frustration, they will send you non-stainless clamps?.
1/2" valves, and rubber adapters are quite short These appear to be well made, but the rubber hose adapters that are used to attach them to your pipe are quite short, and I can't just put another piece of hose on because these are a 1-inch valve. 1/4" to 1" in diameter Because the valve is actually 1-inch in diameter, a 1/2" stepped hose is needed. 1/4" instead of 1" 1/2" as stated on the label. Because I have one pipe with a larger separation where the check valve goes, the old ones I removed had longer hoses. Those valves were 1-inch in diameter. All the way around is 1/2".
When I put in a new sump pump, I put in the Zoeller check valves. When I change the pump, I replace them as well. It gives me peace of mind, and I don't wake up in the middle of the night with a voice telling me the sump pump is broken. I'm going to buy some more.
