Pressure fittings made of PVC SCH 40 comply with ASTM D2466. Tapered sockets are used in fittings made to ASTM D2466. The inside diameter dimensions of the fitting sockets are tolerable according to ASTM D2466. The socket entrance is one for 1" fittings. The socket bottom is 1.325" and the socket top is 325". With a /- tolerance, 310" is possible. 004”.
It's made to fit a 1/2-inch SCD 40 PVC PIPE with a 7/8-inch outside diameter. So 7/8 inch is your answer.

These elbows arrived in a bag, which appeared normal until I opened it and took one out. They're stamped as a scheduled 40, but the thickness is so thin that they look more like a schedule 20 elbow 90° to me. I returned them to them.
I was able to get to a big box store and purchase what I needed by the time these arrived. There was no need to use it.
The package was unopened and contained only eight pieces, despite the fact that it was labeled as having ten.
The item was exactly as described, but shipping was slow and had to be ordered from China because it was out of stock.
One out of ten was incorrect, but everything else was spot on.
A PVC elbow is a flexible piece of plastic that is used to connect two pieces of As was to be expected. There will be no surprises.
