It will press into 1/4" ID tubing if the hose fitting is labeled as 1/4".
No, this fitting is too small for a propane gas line; 3/8 is the smallest size that should be used, and gas flow is restricted. It's also worth noting that this isn't a gas fitting. Flare fittings should be used for your gas connections.

The KORAM tube with a diameter of "1/4 inch" is 0. 25" in diameter with a 0. 25" wall thickness. 167" ID. The hose barb on this part has an OD of 0 and goes up from there. The barb ridge rises to a height of 257" and the ridge of the barb rises to a height of 0. 290" OD. Even after soaking in hot water, that plastic hose will not stretch to fit this barb. I'm guessing this barb is designed to work with a hose with a larger ID or more flexibility. EDIT: After cheating by turning down the edge of the barb OD on a lathe, I was able to make it work.
So I removed them, installed a barb fitting, a clamp, and a new SAE fitting - Done and dusted.
I've ordered and used a variety of Anderson fittings over the course of the last year. One of them is pictured above. Anderson fittings have always been of excellent quality in my experience. I've never been let down by a fitting. All of the threads have been expertly cut and are within the NPT design specifications. When the PTFE is properly wrapped and tightened (not over-tightened), tight. ) They never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, The barbed shank is longer than most, and it grips the hose firmly. There will never be a leak if the clamps are properly tightened. The hex shape on the outside is ideal for use with a standard open-ended question. the final nut Machined and finished to a high standard. br>br>There are no flaws with this fitting at all. I've used every other Anderson product I've tried (so far). ) I can't think of anything I'd like to complain about. Five out of five stars.
exactly what I was looking for.
As one might anticipate - When pipe threads are properly cut and assembled with ptfe pipe tape, they are leak proof. br>br>During cold weather, I assembled the hose barb ends by heating the tubing with a heat gun (hair dryer). The barbed ends were easier to put together than the plastic barbed fittings I had previously used. br>br>I didn't have any leaks at all - for the first time - With this fitting, you'll be able to get the job done every time - That's exactly how I like it. If my memory serves me correctly, I put two or three sets on each side of the ball valves.
This barbed fitting, along with a couple of crimp type clamps, were used on an air compressor hose. It fits perfectly and is of excellent quality. Brass is an excellent choice for this purpose.
This was used to upgrade a VIAIR 88p to include an inflator gauge and a safety release valve with a 100psi pressure. A clamp is recommended by the manufacturer for safety reasons, but it is not necessary at portable compressor psi. You're on your own if you clamp or not clamp.
As I moused the fit measurements, they were spot on.
