I don't have a ruler with me right now, but it's about 2 inches long, 3/4 inch wide, and 1/4 inch thick. The clip on a dog leash is about the same size as this one.
Both "eyes" have a diameter of about 3/4". The clasp is 1-inch long. When closed, it measures 1/8" x 3/4". When fully opened, the gap measures 3/4" in diameter. The closed "eye" measures 5/8" x 3/4" in size. The small size is due to the swivel connection.
It's only a fraction of an inch. These hooks have always been my go-to method for attaching my keys to my purse. They appear to be quite powerful.
This item should not be used for any job or task that requires a significant amount of weight.

6/14/20 Update: For the harness connection point, I went with a smaller trigger snap (3180BC). I believe this is a better size for our 30 terrier in general. The new smaller snap is installed and compared to the other larger size in the attached photo. br>br>Update (6/6/20): Our dog has tried to pull as hard as she can and the trigger snap hasn't disengaged! In a similar vein, the leash is a climbing "daisy chain," which allows it to be easily adjusted to different lengths. Summary: For a dog leash, I purchased this and the bronze version. Advantages: br>br> The Stainless Steel (SS) version is slightly larger and beefier (as shown in the image). br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. The clasp wasn't working properly, which was a minor issue. I was able to fix it by tapping the rivet with a center punch to loosen it up, and it worked fine after that. I deducted one star because the manufacturer's quality assurance program should have caught this problem. This works perfectly as a snap replacement on my Kurgo Ascender Dog Leash. Three zip-lock bags were used. Because there was no other way to attach this snap to my leash, I used ties to do so. This trigger snap serves as a comfortable lever for my thumb and is simple to operate. This snap appeals to me more than the standard clip found on most leashes.
When you're under tension, it's much faster and easier to let go.
Shipping was quick. It's a little bigger than I expected, but it'll do the trick. a quick delivery.
The spring is strong, and it hasn't rusted in my use of it in a saltwater marine environment.
My old one from another company had stopped closing because the spring had snapped, so I got this one. It's been about six months since I got it, and it's been rock solid the entire time; it feels more convenient for quick releases when I need my car keys, and it's much more secure than my old one.
