Is it possible to use these in a marine environment? I'm aware that the brass should work, but I'm curious about the spring. ?

I used mine to make a keychain with a belt clip. My keys fall off my belt at least 50 times a day as the manager of a busy restaurant. It was only two months long.

Definitely preferable to the stock hooks

For my new flagpole with over/under flag display, I used four of these. Definitely preferable to the stock hooks. Swivels help to keep things tidy. Brass is a high-quality metal that will not tarnish.
