For the most part, the book is sturdy and provides a good writing surface, but I am concerned that it will not hold up to repeated use. The metal pieces on the rounded corners are likely to be the first to fail, and they could have been attached more securely. Magnets were the biggest letdown for me. The description repeatedly claims that there are eight "strong magnets," but I took that to mean that there were eight magnets PER POCKET. That isn't the case. The magnets are located on each end of the pocket with none in the middle (you have to have a minimum of two per pocket to keep it closed so it's not as great as they make it out to be) and there are eight in total between two pockets. I tried stuffing some paper in there to make it look like credit card receipts, but it wouldn't close. The magnets are much weaker than they appear to be. I intend to return.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to get one. It's incredibly simple to stay organized. I used to keep track of everything with a check presenter, which was always a disaster. This one has two pen holders, which means I don't have to worry about losing pens in my apron. I keep my walking bank in the zipper pocket, use the other pocket for daily cash payments (it's easy to separate the money I have every day to make change/break large bills from the cash I collect each day for sales and tips), and have a separate pocket for credit card slips and yet another pocket to anchor my server order pad. And the clear window is ideal for storing a draft beer list or anything else I need to refer to frequently throughout the shift (if you're a part manager, this pocket would be ideal for storing your swipe card). I was afraid that the book would be too thick to fit in my apron pocket when I ordered it, but it isn't. Despite the fact that it has a lot of organizational and storage capabilities, it hasn't even come close to filling my apron pocket. However, because it is quite thick, you won't have much extra room in your apron if you have a habit of carrying several check presenters full of cash/signed slips with pens from your tables. As a result, each time you close out, you'll have to take the extra 30 seconds to collect your cash and slips from check presenters and re-circulate them.
It has a plethora of pockets that I find extremely useful. I can use sticky notes in one pocket to write down my orders, or I can use a larger pocket above to hold a notepad. Also very useful are the magnetic pockets. The edges are perfect because they are rounded off, and I feel good knowing they won't wear out over time. The only thing that was inconvenient was the size; it isn't huge, but it is larger than the one I was using before, so it was a little bothersome. It's about the same size as the standard American Express cards that my restaurant provides to its patrons. Those, on the other hand, tear far too easily. By a few days, I've gotten used to the size and am so pleased with everything else about it that the size is no longer an issue. If this is a deciding factor for you, simply choose the smaller of the two options available. Although it is only slightly smaller, it is still preferable to nothing. I feel like I have more control over my notes, money, and credit card tickets because it's so versatile. Everything is contained in this single book, rather than being scattered throughout the internet as it was previously. So, to summarize: br>br> This is an outstanding book. Don't be a snob; buy it! I adore it, and all of my coworkers are envious and want one after seeing how well it has served me.
This one is very nice and nearly identical to the description, with good quality - I like the magnetic pockets because they are convenient and open wide - it appears to last a long time. It's not like having zipper pockets that aren't wide enough to hold a lot of cash. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that the super strong magnetic pieces have been overused. Each pocket has two magnets, both of which are small and ineffective. They can say four per pocket because it has two magnets and then two opposing magnets, all of which are required for it to work. I'd like the manufacturers to be honest and say there's a magnet in each corner of the pocket, and I'd like them to strengthen them. br>br>I like that there are two penholders, so you can choose whether to put your pen in the middle or on the side.
I enjoy keeping my server book organized, and it's a lot easier now that I have this book. Money, receipts, and my safestaff certificate are all kept in one of the pockets. it's everything It's the perfect size for my apron. My only wish is for the book's "spine" to be a little more durable. Aside from that, the quality is excellent, and once this one wears out, I will order another. Without a doubt, this is a far superior option to the credit card presenters at work.
When I'm a jumble, this has helped me stay organized. No money or receipts are lost, and the compartment is ideal for storing small bills, credit cards, and change. Overall, I'm not sure how I managed to keep my money and receipts in a simple credit card book instead of this. I like that I can carry a printed menu with me for when I need to double-check descriptions, as well as various small notes.
The book itself, which does not have any unpleasant odors (such as new fake leather or similar materials), the fact that it is extremely useful and compact, and that each pouch pocket serves a specific purpose. The second, and perhaps most important, feature is that it is a family-owned business that genuinely cares about the products it sells. I would strongly suggest it.
First and foremost, there are only two magnets in each magnetic pocket. They made it sound like each pocket had eight magnets. Magnets, on the other hand, are terrible; they barely hold each other together. As a result, I'm going to give it a one-star rating. Then they say it's not very sturdy, in fact, it's quite flimsy. That gets a one-star rating. Very let down. I'd return it if it weren't for the fact that I need it tomorrow for work. 😫.
