This is a metal that has been coated. I was worried that it would scratch my wood table, but it is extremely smooth. This product has exceeded my expectations.
The back of the chair has the same arch design as the front, but it is devoid of the tray.
I think it's a good idea. Because of a move, mine is currently packed in storage. However, don't make the same error I did. I was under the impression that the salt and pepper shakers were included, but they aren't.

My own salt shakers, which my sister gave me as a wedding gift, are perfect. I even have room in the middle for a toothpick holder, which is actually a small shot glass, that I got in Vegas. If anyone is curious about the sizes, I've included them below. The shakers are from Disneyland, and I have coasters that have the same swirls and match it perfectly that I purchased on Amazon. I like it because my shakers won't get strewn about the table or get misplaced; it's a good buy and well worth the money.

This napkin holder is one of my favorites. I was looking for something similar but couldn't find it in a store, so I ordered it online. It's overpriced for what it is and the quality it provides, but I'm happy with my purchase overall. It's not exactly cheaply made, but similar items of comparable quality in stores cost a lot less. I'm not sure I'd give it as a gift, but I do like it. I simply believe it is overpriced, but it is a nice item in general.
Most people seem to keep their napkins in one place, their salt and pepper in the cabinet, or their salt and pepper on the counter at random. For salt and pepper, we use the high-quality OXO grinders, and for everyday meals, we simply ripped a paper towel to use as a napkin. So it seemed like a no-brainer to me when I saw this on Amazon. It's attractive enough to add a touch of class to your decor, and the salt and pepper compartments are big enough for our oversized grinders. It's also great for keeping napkins close at hand. It also took up less space on the counter and was easy to transport to the table for use during meals. This purchase has made me very happy.

This napkin holder is fantastic. As you can see, the salt and toothpick bottles, as well as the salsa, were held in my tortilla Mexican basket. This napkin holder is roomy, as shown in my photos (I used an Advil box to demonstrate), and I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
