TL; DRbr>I did not receive the item for which I paid. br>br>This month, I bought three for a competition. They were all brought together, but one of them stood out. br>br>Barfly was responsible for the packaging of 1x. The packaging appeared to be official. The spirals are clumsy and wide. Not at all like the picture on the website. br>br>2x did not come with any packaging or branding. Into plain plastic bags they were simply thrown. The spirals are as tight as they appear in the photo. These are the ones I prefer. br>br>In my competition, I might have to triple stir, and it's a real pain that one of these spoons isn't the same as the other. As the larger spiral battles the other two, I sense resistance. This is a huge letdown. I won't be able to return this in time for my competition, so I'll have to make do with what I have; it's a shame I spent $36 on an experience I didn't want.
For my home bar, this is my preferred bar spoon. The spoon is just the right size for garnishes and makes stirring drinks a breeze. The twist is nicely polished, which aids in swirling, is comfortable, and the spoon's size gives it enough heft to follow the glass's perimeter. I would buy this product again in a heartbeat, but if I had to choose between the shorter and longer versions, I would choose the longer version for a little more style and leverage when stirring. This spoon, on the other hand, fits in all of the convenient places and dishwashers that we have at our disposal as home users. This spoon is fantastic, and I plan to keep it in my home bar for many years.
The "Japanese style" spoon does not have the 'barfly' branding on it, but rather the'mercer culinary' logo, which is a little disappointing. I even ordered a replacement to confirm it was the company that owns the barfly brand. If you're ordering this spoon, you should be aware of this because it doesn't appear to be mentioned in the description (unless I'm missing something), but aside from that, it's a decent spoon.
This item would have done the job if it hadn't been designed for a colossus. I'm a normal-sized woman (5'5' 160lbs) and I'm microscopic in comparison to this beast. If you imagine a regular snake spoon, it would be slightly taller than the glass. This thing was the size of two glasses, and I had no idea where it would be stored, and it looked completely out of place in the kitchen. br>br>This might work if you're making a lot of drinks for a lot of people. If you're only mixing drinks for yourself, get a smaller one.
This is equally appealing to the eye as the photographs. The only disadvantage is that it is quite lengthy, but this is due to my failure to read the description carefully. We use it as a coffee stirring spoon and are very pleased with it.
This spoon's length makes it simple to maneuver in a regular glass, mixing glass, or cocktail shaker. The weight is evenly distributed between the spoon and the teardrop, resulting in a pleasant stirring experience. It's very simple to clean.
You'll wonder why you waited so long to buy a kind of pricey stir for drinks after years of waiting. Even tabletop drink servers (those with a spigot at the bottom) will not be able to reach the bottom with this extremely sturdy stir. Nothing ever comes into contact with your hand in the drink, and everything is perfectly mixed.
I like how long this spoon is because it allows me to stir cocktails properly with minimal effort; I've found that well-made ice is easy to crack with the back end of the spoon, but harder ice still requires an ice pick. Aside from that, this is almost the ideal barspoon.
