Questions & Answers

Has anyone come across a sheath to protect ?

The obsession with vette is similar to mine. It is either medium cardboard or clamshell plastic that I use for my storage sheathes. Put a few staples in the material after it is folded. I found this sheath to be rather ghetto, but it works well and is rather appropriate for knives that cost less than this (a "real" sheath would likely cost more).

What is the rest of the knife's tang made of or how is it held into the handle? Is the blade held in the handle by about a half-inch or so?

Unlike this knife, it doesn't have a full tang. The magnet I used was too strong, so I tested it out with a strong magnet.

Would anyone be able to tell me what the blade angle should be ?

I just dropped it off at the knife sharpening shop

Could you please give me an idea of what I might use to slice chicken breasts?

There is nothing better than this knife! This knife stays sharp for quite some time. I've given more than 15 away to my friends and Although it would be a long dish to prepare, it would be fantastic for chicken. In competitions as well as in the kitchen, I typically slice brisket with this tool.

This knife is awesome and I would buy it for my grandmother
5/5

My job is a meat cutter, and I was trying to buy new knives. There are raving reviews about this knife but I am sure they are from people who use it occasionally in their home. The price is rather high, and I am skeptical at first. Since I figured it will be so cheap, I'll try it out and if I don't like it, I won't have much to lose. Anyway, I must say that I am very happy with this The only thing I can't wait to see is how it does when it's time to resharpen. If you intend to use this knife at home, I'd definitely recommend it to you. However, I would also recommend it for people who will use it 8 hours per day at their jobs. It is much more attractive to me than the dexters I receive at work. I have updated Since I bought the knife 8 months ago, I have been using it regularly. The program was used 40 hours per week by me. The knife still continues to impress me. I am happy with how easily it can be sharpened. My only complaint is the handle does not hold up well to my hand and I have to wrap a piece of cloth around it so it.

A professional meat cutter has been using it at work for 9 months
5/5

In 2009, I started cutting meat at the store level. Since 2015, I have been engraving as a hobby. My company provided us with these black handles Victorinox knives, so I purchased a set of these knives to use at work since it didn't match the black handle knives provided to us by Victorinox. I can see if someone is sneaking my knives into the other side of the room to use them. As long as I know how to use a sharpening stone, I can sharpen my knives rather than using a machine that misses the edges and leaves them rough. It is clear from the lack of polish on the blades as well as the grinding marks in the steel that these knives are not of high quality. As a result, they are harder to clean than a highly polished blade, but for less than $20 for the set, we thought they were worth a try. Well it has been nearly a year since I purchased them, so I figure I am using them at least three or four times per week for several hours each With the stone, I can usually wait about a month between a good sharpening, which is considerably longer than the time the other knives I get Even though the steel is not finished well, it has a great deal of strength! I engraved the 'Chicken Buster Bone Crusher 9001' to smash chicken bones for curry. I mostly use it for that purpose. also found a second use as a hammer for cleaning out Ribeye beef bone slivers, which we cannot trim any longer on the saw. There are a number of bumps and bruises on the spine of the knife, but it has stood up quite well to This is great steel for its price and the finish is poor, but it makes up for it with its strength and longevity. They require some effort to resharpen, but they last through a lot of cutting before they need to be sharpened again.

Since the price of a knife can be so high, I've bought a $50 knife because I think the better quality comes from the higher price
5/5

The knives I use at work are my own, since I am a meat cutter. Since the price of a knife can be so high, I've bought a $50 knife because I think the better quality comes from the higher price. There's no truth in that. Knives like this are sometimes just as good as those that have been in the market for fifty years. It will never happen The next time I buy these, I will buy them. These knives are awesome!.

This has an edge, it's nice
5/5

What's here isn't gimmickry. My work involves cutting up big fish almost every single It is impressive to see how well the edge holds with this knife. International, Bubba, and Dexter are among the programs I've used. The updated version is now my go to when I want to check the world cup scores. My paper wheel was once struck with it on the polish after I had been using it for ling and snapper for a week. Unlike other fillet knives, the spine of this knife is thicker than the mundials. I would estimate it to be one eighth of an inch As well, I chopped a bunch of frozen 'tinker' mackerel for bait on vertical longlines. Like butter, went through them in a flash. In my 22 years fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico, I find it difficult to be impressed. I am now using them exclusively. Specifically, the following updates have been made I've added over 20 of these knives to my collection. I chopped up 5 deer last week, and the knives were Since I've been looking for better for more than a year, I haven't found it. I am always looking for new things.

I promise you, it will be a blast! The six inch curved boning knife is also excellent, and I'm not going to go into all the praises I could give it
5/5

I'll just say this it's very sharp and it's heavy. Our Sunday turned out to be a bit hectic, as we butchered a 375 pound hog. In order to bleed it out, the throat will need to be cut. A knife of this type can complete the job in less than a minute. In addition, further along the process of processing the carcass, it became time to separate the head from the body by cutting through the backbone. In addition to accomplishing that task, this knife was also quite useful. As we continued the process, I would go to look for the little 6" Update, but The knives became the ones people reached for most often. While we were processing these things, we discussed how sharp they were and the best comparison we could come up with was, "like a hot knife through butter. ". You did an AMAZING job with these! We're ready for bacon now!.

My recommendation to you if you need to break a knife-get one especially for the price
5/5

I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of the knife. The knife is extremely well made and of good quality The quality of knives available on the market is far better However, you would have to win the lottery before you would ever find them on sale as cheaply as this knife is priced - This knife arrived extremely sharp, which I was pleasantly surprised to find out. As well as owning it for a while, I've used it over and over for its intended function and I've just now reached the point where I need to touch up the edge- I'm now approaching the point where I need to retouch the edge of the frame- I will let you know if there is a problem with this A new review will be posted soon- Owning dozens and dozens of knives of all types and makes, I do not expect to run into any kind of problem. It has impressed me so much that I intend to buy several more UPDATE INTERNATIONAL knives of different styles, and I tend to be a pretty tough customer. When someone asks to borrow a knife from me, I can readily provide them with one of these knives knowing that it will do the job they need and that I will be able to keep my "BEST" knives out of their reach. If the price is right? Then go for it! I hope your luck with this knife is as good as mine.

As I was cutting a sandwich, the blade broke in half
3/5

I saw my spouse cut a sandwich with the knife and the blade broke. Please see the attached photo for my purchase of this "Update International (KP-240)" About two years ago, I bought a 10" knife for light duties around the house. Initially I was excited about the purchase since it came at an extremely low price, and the knife was excellent for the price. This knife has never been placed in a dishwasher and has never been properly cared for. It is the first time I have ever seen a knife break like this on one of my over 30 year old knives.
