My favorite knife for everything is this one. It is easy to cut vegetables and meat. Sharpening it before each use is part of my routine. When it has been used, I always wash it and place it back into its In one of The Pioneer Woman's cooking shows, my husband had seen her using it. So, we bought it for me for my birthday. It would be unthinkable for me to spend that much money on a knife, but it's worth it.
There is just a hair more than 1 3/4" between the blade and the edge of the concrete. Wusthof knife blocks have wide slots that fit this blade.
I can assure you that this knife WONT be just another knife in your arsenal! It will cut through meat, vegetables, vegetables, a watermelon, and even soft fresh bread like it's butter! It will keep impressing you if you use your knife steel after a good amount of use, just as I do. The Forschner Victorinox, recommended by Cook's Illustrated, was my first choice for a long time. The Wusthof Nakiri beats the competition in my opinion by a mile. I hope you enjoy it just as much as
Nakiiri 7" Classic is the model name, but I was unable to locate a model number. In addition to the Gourmet model, it is also available at a lower price. If you are right-handed, the Classic costs $135, but can be bought online for $80. It has an attractive design because the blade is longer in front and guards against cutting your finger as it slips against your curled left index finger as you cut the vegetable. In addition to meats, I use it often for vegetables, too.

Here's what I use on my Henckel 8" Professional - Despite its age, the Chef's knife has held steady as a workhorse since 1903. The only thing I wanted was a blade that would make vegetables easier to cut. The knife is razor sharp (probably should be this sharp - that's what makes it so incredible) This bike is brand new and comes from the factory with perfect weight and balance I found the knife to be very fast when it was being used on a bunch of cilantro. A chef's knife I can use with less effort. I'll use it all the time There is almost nothing you can't do with a knife In the case of meat, a blade of a greater size is required. If you are a new user of this style knife, I wouldn't recommend anything else other than checking out YouTube for quick video instruction on how to use it most effectively.
In the past 35 years, I have been using Wusthof Classic knives and I am pleased with the way they have performed. I've used the 6 inch utility knife for a lot of chores with my family - Since I had already bought one, I figured I would splurge on Considering that the set looks the same and seems to be the same quality, I took the risk of ordering it here. In this case however, the only change is that it is RAZOR SHARP instead of flat. While this is a good thing (sharper knives are safer), I would caution anyone who is trying to use one of these knives for the first time. In my opinion, I should probably take my entire set to a professional if I actually want it to be this sharp (yes, I probably should). And I strongly encourage you to pay attention when changing from any other knife to this one. The bottom line is I am very pleased with how this new one will perform and am confident it will hold up to my expectations.
Although it works well, the quality is not up to what I expected from a Wusthof Classic knife. I use this knife as an all purpose knife for all my cooking My choice of the nakuru was based on its use as a vegetable cutter. I love the way this knife feels in the hand. However, for the price tag, I expected to love it. It was first difficult to cut vegetables such as butternut squash because of their hardness. Another issue I have is that the bottom corner catches on the edges of my integrated cutting board. Here is an example from Amazon that describes this issue. The idea only occurred to me after it was already The third thing I noticed was there wasn't a huge difference in quality between this knife and the poor quality one This is a different brand than the one I was using before (bought in Japan for a couple
I still plan on keeping it because it's a good knife. I don't understand the hype, but it's still a good knife.
Skip the imitations and get yourself an authentic German or Japanese knife. I am very happy with this knife. There are two things that stand out to me the most I found the cutting to be very good (although to be completely honest, I have had sharper) and the handle to be It has a very comfortable handle and is pleasing to the All in all, I am very satisfied with the knife and will look to buy this brand again soon.
Knives of this type can be used for slicing and carving small roasts very well. edge of the blade remained sharp for a long time. Once you've done that, you simply need to shave the blade with a steel again before you begin your preparation. This knife will last for years if you take care of it (clean and dry it, store in a wood block in a safe place, not in a drawer) and when you use it you'll enjoy it The perfect balance of weight and balance.
I ordered several of them for food preparation. It was a real pleasure ordering six Wusthof steak knives, Gourmet ones, and there is a big difference in the quality between them. It is worth noting that the Classic are much better made and the material used is If you need steak knives, the Gourmet is sufficient, but if you are planning on serious cooking, you should get the Classic if you can afford the price difference. For me, the Classic is worth it since I plan to keep them for a long time and I cook a lot. It can be chopped, sliced, and cut.
It also has a good angle and stays sharp for a long time. The best knives can suffice, so a few good ones are more than enough. The knife I am using is a paring knife. I have a filet and boning knife as well. It hasn't been necessary to use anything else so far. It is very attractive - I am I wish there were a way to get the same quality at a lower price.
This soft, gentle grip feels comfortable in the hand without being overly contoured to the hand. It has a nice Goldilocks weight to it, not too heavy and not too light.
