Product Description

A kitchen knife that is ideal for slicing foods with tough skins and peels but smooth interiors, such as tomatoes and avocados. It is also ideal for tougher foods like hard cheeses, sausages with casings, and more.
The Shun Serrated Utility has a blade that is between the size of a chef's knife and a paring knife, but with a straighter, narrower edge and small serrations allowing it to effortlessly glide through tougher foods
PakkaWood, a genuine hardwood infused with resin that is water-resistant and durable, is used for the handle, which is D-shaped for a comfortable grip that's easy to clean.
Cutting core of the blade is made of VG-MAX steel, a formula designed exclusively for Shun and re-engineered from the VG10 formula to make it stronger, sharper, harder and more corrosion resistant
Give a Classic 6-inch Serrated Utility Knife to your friends, newlyweds, grandparents, cooks, entertainers, or aspiring chefs for their upcoming wedding always handy to have a sharp serrated blade around.

Questions & Answers

How often does this knife need to be sharpened?

I don't think so, though it's a pain to do without one. In the case of the boron steel core, the HRC is around 64. The product is very handy for bread, tomatoes, etc. I use it VERY frequently. The same knife might do just as well but it might be thin and crappier. Würstof & Co., MAC & Co., Global I make the offset bread and rolls for Felix How about tomato knives at a discount? Still my favorite Shun knife is the Shun Alton Brown "utility" knife.

Is there a protective sleeve included with this?

Inside the box, there is just a cardboard sleeve as packaging. Moving it used to work, but it would not stand the test of

Are there any references to the weight of this knife? I am looking for one that feels heavy in the ?

My kitchen scale stated that it was 2 3/4 ounces, but I'm not sure how accurate that figure There is no weight to this knife. It is very sharp and quickly cuts through anything.

In your opinion, do both sides of the blade share the same serrations?

There are virtually no differences between the two sides! Serrated sharpening is limited to the cutting edge that is actively cutting. There is a knifetooth on the other side (the "vvvvv")*br>And on the bottom is the word "sky." The word "uuuuu" is like "uuuuuu"

I have a Wustof classics knife
5/5

I also use one of the WUSTOF knives. Wustof Classics are great knives that I use for chopping etc. I have a few of these knives from different brands. They are great knives for welfare. In spite of that, these are my favs for slicing. The knives are well made, well balanced, and feel good in the hand. If properly used and taken care of, they will last for a long time. There's a shun sa tiki in my possession that's at least 12 years old and is still as sharp as a razor. A lot of years have passed since it was built. My shins would never be used to chop with (I'd use thicker blades instead).

It is a great knife
5/5

If you cook a lot, you have plenty of experience with I am in love with this little Shun utility knife. I love what the design is, and I like the way it handles (for my big hands, as well as my wife's smaller ones). Even though the serrations are small, the blade can easily pass through things like tomatoes. If you want it as thin as possible, this will do the trick. The mondo knife doesn't replace a good chef's knife for cooking big meals or a small paring knife for taking care of little ones, but it's a nice tool to have in the cook's arsenal.

This is an incredibly sharp knife
5/5

I am amazed at this knife. I am very pleased with how sharp and balanced it is. My favorite feature is its ease of use. I accepted the review even though I had it for a few days, but I can always revise it if I do not like it.

Knives made in Germany should be at 20 degrees. Due to the flat edge on one side of the metal disc below the handle, the Shun steel eliminates the guesswork involved in getting the angles correct. This tomato knife is the perfect tool for cutting tomatoes In the meantime, I didn't eat tomatoes for a week while I waited for this knife. I'm glad I waited for it. The tomatoes are so much easier to cut with this than with a steak knife formerly used to cut them! In my opinion, this knife is an utility knife shaped like a scallop. Although I am not experienced enough with knives to know the difference between serrated and scalloped blades, this knife is wonderful to me. In Alton Brown's "Gear" book, he mentioned he preferred scalloped blades, but he There is a high price to pay for this, but it is an investment that will last a lifetime. There isn't much to say about Shun knives, except that they are revered and excellent. I experience a sense of epiphany when I slice a tomatoe.

It's amazing what this knife can do! The one I bought for my mother and I 10 months ago has become the "go-to" device for us An all-purpose knife is what you need most of the time. The blade never needs to be sharpened, so I don't have to worry about cutting vegetables. An order has just been placed for another one for my.
