Well water is used in our house, to which a whole house filter is used. Our home is located in North Carolina where the ground has a high iron content, making it orange looking. Water from our well can be seen to be orange in color. For the past few weeks, we have been shopping at Lowe's Home Improvement store and buying similar filters for over $30 each. We then ceased to be able to buy the filters at Lowes. It was such a lucky find to find these filters on Amazon for half the price. My husband put it in yesterday and it cleared the water immediately. As of now, we are only on day two, but things are looking up. Due to its low price as well as the fact that it sorted out the water, I'm giving it five stars right now. I will revisit this site in a week and revise my rating if necessary.

Our whole house filter uses this cartridge, and we change it every six months since we installed it several years ago. After and before using this filter, I noticed very significant differences in the quality of my water. I can honestly say that it keeps the water in my house cleaner and safer. Our water is also less likely to rust when we use it. We've noticed that the rust in the water has decreased and the need to deep clean the fixtures with harsh chemicals has decreased as well. To be able to evaluate the effectiveness of water filtration, regular water tests should be performed before the treatment starts and throughout the process. I'm not making any particular claim, and every case is different, but they've shown us that our home water system has improved. Turn off the water supply, drain, or turn off the outlet lined using the special wrench. Remove the base and loosen it. I coat the seal with pool filter seal lube. The new filter can be used to filter drinking water. Unwrap the new filter and put it in the center of the base unit. Put the base and the new filter on top of the upper unit. Tighten the top unit tightly. It is plastic, so do not over tighten it. You may have to tighten more to seal it. Check for leaks while the water is on. Trying replacing the o ring again if it does not seal will help. Set the outlet water valve to the on position and turn the water on.

My goal was to reduce sediment and chlorine in my city water with this filter. Initially, it worked flawlessly, but for a few days afterward, the water flow ceased altogether. I would see trickles of water coming from my faucets if the washing machine was running. Sorry to hear that. I do not believe they can claim these filters last.
