A totally different experience from what I was hoping for

Serrated surfaces are superficial and can only be found on the top side of the washer. The Guard4U product shown in the photo is the larger washer. The washer needed when purchasing this is the smaller Belleville washer Belleville may not be the manufacturer of these two items. It is the smaller of the two, and it has teeth on it so it can securely hold the bolt. There is no problem when it is not important to use these washers. A good assembly would not be possible without these, so it gets one star because it came in a box with sizes that were varied, but I returned it.
