The width of the staples that will fit in your stapler should be measured. If you already have a few staples on hand, this is a good option. Simply measure the length of the staple from top to bottom. This is the width of the "crown." That is the most important piece of information you require. br>br>If your staple doesn't have any staples, simply open it and measure the width of the part where staples are inserted.
Air is the weapon I use to fire these staples. Porter Cable is the name of the company. I'm not sure if there's an electric gun that can fire this specific staple, but I seriously doubt it.

Two factors account for my low opinion of these staples: These are brittle and more akin to staples in an office. No matter how gently you pry them off, they will immediately snap in half if you try to remove them. Despite being over 10 years old, the old staples I removed from my couch were much stronger and I can say that after removing hundreds of them, perhaps 15 to 20% snapped due I have no problems stapling on soft wood, but when I try to staple webbing onto hard wood, the staples bend before they can penetrate the wood! It was difficult to put together the arms of my couch with these because I had so many crooked staples. I'm going to look for better staples because I'm so dissatisfied with these. I can only imagine how much of a nightmare it will be to reupholster this couch in years to come once these staples are removed. To give you an idea, I'm using these with a Fasco 3G Electric Stapler, which is a fantastic stapler.
I dropped them into my stapler, which is supposed to accept 3/8 inch crown staples, and couldn't close the slide; I assumed something was wrong with my stapler until I dropped some T50's in (with a lower gauge) and was able to close the slide. I got out a ruler and sure enough, the T50's had a crown that was exactly 3/8 inch, but these had a 5/16 crown, which meant they were too narrow. I wasn't sure if the box was just filled with the wrong staples because there appeared to be about a 1/2 inch of wiggle room in the box, or if it was a manufacturing defect and they were made too narrow because the box said 3/8 inch crown. In any case, my stapler couldn't handle them. Also, the legs were not half an inch long as stated; they were 1/16th of an inch short. The leg length, unlike the crown width, did not cause me any problems. br>br>Amazon was fantastic and promptly refunded my money. I contacted the company as well, and they were courteous and prompt in responding to my concerns. The following is their response: br>br>"First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for your e-mail. mail. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me your tool's model number. I'm curious because while all fine wire fasteners have a 3/8" crown, they're made from different gauge wire and can't be used in the same tools. Although these 71/12 staples are labeled as having a 3/8" crown, the production tolerance requires them to be narrower in order to fit into that tool series. It may appear misleading, but the reason this style staple is referred to as a 3/8" is because all tool manufacturers refer to it as a 3/8" crown stapler. "br>br>Overall, if you order staples, double-check the measurements of the staples you receive if they won't fit in your stapler. I bought a Freeman Fine Wire Stapler as a point of reference. I was on the verge of returning the stapler, assuming it was defective, because I couldn't believe the staples were the issue. Now I'm on the lookout for 22 gauge staples with a true 3/8 inch crown that will work.
These staples are fantastic; I've probably shot over 100,000 of them with the 'Porter-type'. US58 1/4-inch cable inch to 5/8-inch-inch-inch-inch-inch-inch-inch- Inch 22- Gauge C- 'Crown Upholstery Stapler' is a type of stapler used in the upholstery industry For the Carpeted Wall Mounted Cat Shelf, I use them to staple carpet to wood. The staples are packaged extremely well, and I have never received a box with a single broken row of staples. I always dread having to pull one out for whatever reason because the staples never jam and hold so well.
In my upholstery business, I see these all the time. They are not a problem. Excellent value for money.
Too often, products appear in searches as a result of an Amazon ad. These came up when I was looking for a specific size. They were purchased by me. My staple gun will not accept them.
These staples are of high quality. My Porter Cable stapler drives them all the way into hardwood, but they can be easily removed with a staple remover if necessary. They aren't separated in any way. Only because the price is a little high did I give them four stars. I found the same staples at a local upholstery supply store for a little more than half the price, but even if you don't have a local source, the price is still reasonable.
I like these staples because they work well with my long nose staple gun.
I am pleased with my purchase.
