I wrapped it around a 1/4 wire loom and it shrank down to a very small size. This is something I'm going to use a lot more of in the future.
Only because it's heavy duty did I give this shrink tubing three stars. I needed the larger 3/4 size to fit over a couple of fittings, but neither of the two pieces I tried shrank down (3 to 1) as stated. This shrink tubing shrinks 2 to 1 just like regular shrink tubing. I was dissatisfied with the results and had to cut it off several of the pieces I tried.
I didn't think I'd need the largest sizes, but they proved useful for waterproofing spot light relays on a Polaris RZR. I would strongly suggest it.
There is a significant amount of wiring to be completed. I had never used heat shrink with an adhesive before, so I decided to give it a try. This is fantastic! The 3: Although a shrink ratio of one is close, I'd say it's two. As I cinch it up on 1/16 wire with a lighter, it started to singe. br>br>I soldered my connections, but because of the tight gripping adhesive liner, a quality twist would have sufficed. It emerges from the joint's ends, indicating that the seal is strong and weatherproof. I'm going to get a couple more sizes. I'm not planning on using heat shrink without an adhesive liner again.
This is what I use to repair musky lures where I had to cut hooks as part of the release process. The 3/8" fits easily over a 7 split ring on a bucktail or tail-rigged lure. surface bait is propped up It shrinks tight and cools to a nice hook-like shape after being heated with a Bic lighter. shrink wrap is being held. It's all good. In addition, the adhesive on the inside works well. For musky lure repair, this is a good product to use.
I just put it on yesterday, so we'll see how it goes, but so far it's working well. It's on my drip system right now. The 1/2" line split at the connector, and it just kept blowing off after that. The connector is kept in place by heat shrinking it. For the 1/4" line, I also use the 3/8 ".
After threading dummy cord through the pre-drilled holes, I used mine to make a handle for the smaller 1/4" rods. The final product was snug and allowed for a small tactile handle after sliding tubing over everything and heating it with a heat gun.
Despite the fact that the product appeared to work as advertised, it did not work for my needs. I wanted to shrink a 3/16" cord over a 1/4" hole and have the result pass through. The tubing's wall had shrunk to the point where it was too thick to fit through the 1/4" hole (wall thickness). 1/32"). This caught me off guard and left me feeling disappointed.
