For me, it didn't work. I bought the 1/2 for a 2 AWG battery cable, but it wasn't quite long enough. I couldn't help myself and went with the 3/4.
Flexible with a good seal.
Instead of 3/4 heat shrink, I'd go with a smaller size. It does shrink quite a bit, but that's still quite a bit. It was put to one use by me. It's perfect at 2/0 awg.
Flexible. The less flexible a wire is, the thicker it is. It's still flexy after I used it on 2/0 awg.

This review is for all sizes of this product, which I purchased in 1/2", 3/4", and 1". All of them were the same as the ones listed below. br>br>What I like about it: It shrinks well (3:1). 1) Installing a thick layer of high-quality insulation. The glue on the inside helps to keep moisture and dirt out while also providing a non-slip surface. Keep a firm grip on the insulated area. Marine, automotive, and outdoor applications all benefit from this product. What I didn't like: The shrink tubing is flattened and coiled up to fit into a 5"x7" ziplock bag in an attempt to reduce packaging costs and debris. Really? We're talking about squeezing 8 FEET of tubing (2 pieces, 4' long) into a small plastic bag. I'm not sure how long this tubing sat in its packaging, but it was long enough for the glue inside the flattened tubing to stick together, resulting in a really thick ribbon. I was able to return the product to its original "tubing" shape and use it for its intended purpose after much difficulty. br>br>A word of caution: Once you've received this product and returned it to tubing shape, keep it as straight as possible in a cool environment. If the tubing is stored in a hot environment, such as a pickup bed utility box with the sun beating down, the glue will most likely soften and stick together, rendering it useless.
We usually purchase by the stick, but I was looking for a small convenience kit. This one has better lengths and a few more of the larger sizes than some other kits (although there are still far too many of the smallest sizes for a 3:2). There is only one product. In general, you'll want to go with a larger size than 2: 1 if, after application, you want thicker walls). The glue is adequate; however, it is not as strong or as plentiful as what we normally purchase. When using a lighter on this tubing, keep in mind that it is much easier to overheat and char than other brands; however, a heat gun will suffice, and you will get closer to shrinking it completely 3: 1 with a heat gun, at the very least. So it's a good shrink, but not ideal for some applications, such as underhood/dash auto, where a burn resistant option or a 4:1 ratio would be preferable. 1 with thicker walls as a result of shrinkage. If you've never used one before, even the inexpensive 3: 1 tubing, which is available all over the market, is a nice improvement over the standard 2: 1 tube of any brand, and the red in this kit is a good red - It's not particularly vibrant, but it's also not particularly pink.
Both 4 AWG and 2/0 battery cable were heat shrunk with this heat shrink. This tubing is extremely simple to use and has excellent heat resistance. Another high-quality product from China, this one is smooth, has excellent adhesion, and is durable at an affordable price.
Outside is smooth, but it requires a lot of heat to work properly. I bought one. 5 inch. This is a great product, but it didn't work for the purpose I had in mind. I didn't need the glue because it was too thick and required too much heat. It was entirely my fault. I did not return the item because I believe it will be useful at some point in the future. It takes a lot more heat to shrink a single wall than it does to shrink a double wall. br>br>However, this product would be ideal for a project that required glue on the inside and a thick wall. Naturally, whatever you shrink it into must be able to withstand a great deal of heat. I used a good heat gun on high and had to keep it there for 1 minute. 1 inch apart for 2- It takes 2 minutes. If that much heat had been applied directly to a piece of wood, it would have smoked and possibly ignited. It was shrunk to fit around a 5/8-inch glass rod, and the tubing that wasn't on the rod shrunk to fit around the 5/8-inch rod. I couldn't get the tubing off the rod after it cooled without cutting it, so I didn't try. The adhesive is extremely strong! Normal heat shrink would easily peel away. I only give four stars to things because I rarely give five stars to anything. br> Found several old wiring repairs that were made with sticky, messy electrical tape that was starting to fail. After removing the old tape, mineral spirits and then alcohol were used to clean the cord surfaces. Over three different projects, I used three different tubing sizes, ranging from small motor repair to large 12 ga. tubing. , three- In all three cases, the tubing quickly molded itself to form a rigid, waterproof repair. And I'm stumped as to why buyers complain about the lack of adhesive when all of my repairs had plenty oozing out of the tube ends. It only takes a little heat to emulsify the adhesive enough to make it flow. br> For one of the repairs, I had to remove the tubing in order to fine-tune a solder repair. The job was made easier with the use of an xacto knife - Simply peel off a lengthwise seam. When at all possible, this is far superior to electrical tape. br> Going forward, I'm a convert to this stuff because it's cleaner, faster, more waterproof, and far more durable. And my wife complimented me on my improved professionalism.
The three of them worked perfectly. Because it starts out so big and shrinks so much, the 1 shrink ratio is especially useful when you forget to apply the heat shrink before the connector. Most of the time, it slips right over the fittings.
My new shop standard has been established! It does exactly what it says. It can be slid over the ends of terminals that are already attached, and it shrinks much more than standard heat shrink to conform to the terminal and wire. I haven't had any issues with glue melting at ambient temperatures, including the recent 100 degree temperatures in my area. In fact, I believe the glue does not begin to melt until the tubing begins to shrink. I've only used it with 8 and 10 gauge wire and connectors, so I'm not sure if this 1/2 inch size would shrink to fit smaller wire OD. If the vendor offers a 3/8 inch or 5/16 inch version, that's most likely what you'll need for the smaller terminals. br>br>Creative+ paraphrase: I played around with smaller gauge connectors a little more. I couldn't get the inside diameter of the shrink tube to be less than. 200". So a shrink ratio of 2 would be my guess. At least for the 1/2 inch tube, a 5 to 1 ratio is more accurate. However, I still think it's a good product and will purchase a smaller size if one becomes available.
