Questions & Answers

My existing one (440 vac, 50/60 hz, -) has all of the same numbers. 6%), with the exception of mine, which has the number 40uf/5uf rather than 45/5 . Is this one likely to succeed?

In your unit, a 55 Micro Farad cap should work just fine. On motor start-up, capacitors work like batteries, providing extra electrical energy to help the unit overcome the motor's latency to start. Capacitors charge at different rates depending on capacity. When a capacitor charges and discharges, it usually takes 5 time constants. All of this means that a small cap will charge faster than a large one, but this means nothing to the user unless the cap is used in a timing circuit. The Booster Supco Cap boosts the unit's electrical output by adding extra energy at startup. This is a condensed version of a more detailed study of CAPs in EE courses and how they are used and function.

Where can I get the wires to connect it to the rest of my system? I won't be able to splice the terminals on my own?

The wires have already been attached to the condenser unit. If your fan has its own capacitor, don't use that terminal, and vice versa.

Is it compatible with the Trane XL16i 4ttx6048?

If the compressor does not start when the system is turned on but the fan does, you may have a capacitor issue. Validate your system's capacitance. This product will work if you use 45uf for the compressor and 5uf for the fan. The strap is standard, as is the connector.

Is this compatible with my ruud mfd, which has no markings and only has the areovox sh1238?

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're talking about. I'm just a home owner who enjoys doing things on my own. I simply matched the capacitor that Amazon was selling with my failed capacitor. You'll have more faith in your decision if you can do that.

Almost $450 worth of money was saved
5/5

By Doing It Myself, I was able to save a total of 00 dollars! I can't emphasize enough how simple this was to do and how much money I saved. 00! br>br>I have a Trane air conditioner with a diagnostic diode that flashes in different patterns depending on the trouble code. A faulty run capacitor was found to be the source of the issue. I suspected that the run capacitor was failing (which is uncommon; capacitors either work or don't) and wasn't supplying enough volts to "start" and keep the fan on the outside compressor spinning. I was able to turn the unit on and use a stick to push start the fan blade, which kept it spinning until the capacitor died and the fan stopped. br>br>When I called around for quotes on some repair options, I was told that it would cost $125 on average. 00 to come out and diagnose the problem (despite the fact that I told them what the trouble code meant), and an additional $375 if the problem was the capacitor. 00 to replace it with a new one. Keep in mind that this occurred on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, which is a convenient excuse for repair companies to Jack-up cars. their rates have risen dramatically I decided to fix the problem myself because I didn't want to spend that much money. Even a blind quadriplegic monkey could have made this repair. br>br>I am quite handy and versed in electronics, but I assure you, this repair could have been made by a blind quadriplegic monkey. I looked for a capacitor that met the specifications of my unit locally. You could just look at the markings on the one that's already in the unit and buy the same one. I went with the manufacturer's recommendation, only to discover that the one in the unit was a very low-quality capacitor that barely met the unit's requirements. Local supply companies only sell to licensed HVAC technicians, so I had to look for what I needed on the internet. Fortunately, this part was marked as a PRIME item, with Saturday shipping available (for an additional fee). br>br>A long story told in a short amount of time for around $30. 00 (shipping included! ) ) and in less than 5 minutes, I had replaced the capacitor and brought cool air back into my house! If you're not sure what to do, look up some YouTube videos. Save money by repairing your own electrical appliances, but please be careful and use proper safety techniques when doing so.

This is a perfect match
5/5

This little powerhouse Gem was the exact same brand as the one that came with my Trane air conditioner, so I knew it was the right one. After I removed the control panel cover, it took about 5 minutes for me to replace it. It was easy to swap it out because the dimensions were identical to the old one, and it fit perfectly in the mounting bracket. When I turned on the unit pack, the compressor began to hum sweetly again, and cool air began to flow from the registers. Thank you, Amazon, for allowing me to review this product. a vendor Now I'm a HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY H.

During 103° Weekend, I was a HERO
5/5

So, about a year ago, I purchased two of them as a precaution. It was around 10 p. m. on a Sunday, and it had been a scorcher of a day with temperatures reaching 103 degrees. The air conditioner began to blow warm air, and I was like @$! I also tell my wife to get ready to move - It was hotel night when I remembered I had these capacitors. Now, keep in mind that I've never changed one in my life, but an Ol' AC Guy told me that these are the first things to fail and that they are simple to replace. br>br>So, I quickly went on YouTube to see how they are replaced (make sure you write the color of the wires that match the poles), I turned off the 220v breaker, and then you have to disconnect the thermostat inside (it has 24v running through it), since mine was programmable, I simply pulled it off, then went outside to the condenser unit and took the panel off (it took more time to take the panel off than it did to replace the Capacitor Anyway, you have to be careful not to touch the blades with your bare hands - She scribbled them down, I removed the old one, reconnected the wires, went outside to turn on the power, returned inside, reconnected the thermostat, and turned on the AC (at thermostat), and NOTHING HAPPENED. br>br>I was about to give up when the condenser kicked on and the unit began to move the freon around. My wife gave me a strange look. I WAS A HERO IN MY OWN RIGHT HANDS! Don't Get One. br>br> GET TWO !.

This was a do-it-yourself project, and the product performed admirably
5/5

The specifications were the same as my original capacitor, despite the difference in size. Because of this simple and low-cost solution, my air conditioner is working again. Don't be taken advantage of by air conditioning technicians who try to sell you a compressor. It's not the first time I've seen it. This was a 20-minute do-it-yourself repair, and the product performed flawlessly. Symptoms include: br>br> When the air conditioner is set to cold, the condenser fan (on the outside unit) turns on, but the compressor does not engage. The house is cool, but the fan is blowing. Electric current passes through the capacitor before reaching the compressor; if the capacitor fails, the compressor will never receive power. The first course of action should always be to replace the capacitor. Use Caution: br>br> Working with electricity is something you have to be aware of. Ensure that the circuits have been turned off or that the junction block has been removed. Capacitors are similar to batteries in that they store electricity for a period of time. Before removing the wires, discharge the capacitor by shorting the terminals with a well-insulated tool.

Is your air conditioner not working? Fan Is? or the other way around
5/5

After a few days of research while waiting for my home insurance to arrive, I decided to buy this. If your home's air conditioner isn't cooling and the outside condenser's fan is running, it's time to call a professional. My air conditioner made a strange vibrating noise every now and then, as if it didn't have power, and the copper piping leading into the house was not cold, which was another sign that it wasn't working. Finally, I replaced it, and the problem with the pump starting was solved. In the end, I was able to save $75. 00 after canceling my insurance claim, plus who knows what other hidden fees the technician would have added. The year's best purchase! In addition, I gained knowledge. Always keep a SPARE in your bag!.
