Questions & Answers

This is for a 25/85/21, it has 3 wires coming out. Does it work?

There would be a need for 3 units of was unable to find one at either Amazon or on the Internet to replace it It would be possible to find a 2 unit like 85/25 and sin single 25 that works. Installing them would only require the availability of space

The capacitor I need must be the same type as The NO PCB'S 10000AFC 35+5 have been protected. How about 0 UF +/6% at 370 VAC 50/60 Hz?

What I am looking for is a capacitor that matches NOT PCB'S - 10000 UV protected +/- 55 UF A supply voltage of 6% at 370 VAC and 50/60 Hz

Could anyone advise me on where I might be able to purchase a replacement capacitor for a Genteq ?

I found the app to be helpful
4/5

This was installed today and it worked as it was A replacement would cost $250 according to the AC guy. As a result, I saved a lot of money. If you have plenty of pictures of how the busted capacitor is connected, it will be easier to install the replacement. You should connect the AC power to the AC unit the night before your scheduled meeting, unless you intend to meet your Creator.

The state of Texas gains a great deal from this book
5/5

I've discovered that the HVAC capacitors are overworked due to the weather in Texas. Despite the long lifespan of a capacitor for a good application, such constant A/C usage for 6 years will most likely damage it The starting system for the outdoor unit gets a lot more work than usual when it has been idle for 8 months. It was quite the winter in TX this year when the state had a week-long snowfall and subzero temperatures As a result of freezing temperatures, the heater became frozen. This is likely to be the result of melting snow that became ice when the heat exchanger shut The capacitor replacement, however, provided a boost it needed to fight against the freezing conditions. Since then, I have set up a replacement schedule every year for my HVAC capacitor. Having a repairman come out to do the same thing would be a lot more expensive. This way, you get maximum power from your capacitor no matter what.

Worked for me on my pool pump (maybe!) My hot tub jets were not working this weekend because the pump that runs them broke down
5/5

After I turned on the power, the pump began to hum, but the engine wouldn't turn on. I could feel the impeller turning freely, which indicates the bearings were not malfunctioning. The capacitor (cap) in my pump looked bad to me when I guessed (and later verified). pump cap sat on top of the pump, mounted externally like a piggyback, so it was very simple to My pump was connected directly to the main wiring, so I didn't have to disconnect anything. Over the cap, there are just two small screws that secure the metal cover. Here is a photo of the old/bad cap on the far right, you can see it there. According to the mark on this thing, it is a 35uF (microfarad) capacitor and 370V, and you can clearly see on top that it has two terminals. I was in a bit of a hurry and wasn't an expert on capacitors, so I quickly searched on Amazon's site and found this item (shown middle pic) that looked to be the same as the one I had been looking for. My erroneous assumptions proved to be incorrect. Due to the fact that my old pump was intended for a single run, the top of the cap only has two terminals. A "dual run" unit is two capacitors in one, which means that the one I purchased from Amazon was actually two capacitors in one There are two capacitors, one of which is 35uf and the other of which A large 80uf 440 volt cap from my A/C unit (this is a spare) gives you an idea of how big the cap is on the left. The idea with a dual-system is an interesting one The upside of a run cap is that this one cap can be used to hook up to your A/C compressor (which requires a higher capacitance rating like 35uf) as well as the fan on top of your condenser (which requires My initial reaction, when I realized that I might have to return this, was that I might have to reissue it- Dual-engined aircraft ordered Put the cap in the right place and get the Rather than run (a little oddly, the single-phase method There was a slight increase in cost between the dual-cap and the run cap The unit must be run). I noticed that the dual run cap fit perfectly under the cover on my pool pump where the old cap had been, so I decided to plug the 35uf terminals into the pump to see if it would work. I'm happy to report that it ran perfectly. As far as I can tell, there are no adverse effects on my pump, which makes sense since this is Despite the fact that I'm not using it, it still has an additional 5uf terminal. In conclusion, here is the bottom line My fault entirely for ordering the wrong cap, but I have actually benefited from this decision, since this one fits my pump and is actually less expensive than the original. My favorite part of this deal is that everyone wins!.

Using this fix will save you a great deal of money
5/5

This is an easy fix, especially if you are familiar with electricity and the components of your HVAC system. A few years ago, I had one of these go on me, and the maintenance guy who came out charged 200 dollars for the replacement of this part, which costs 5 dollars for anyone who is licensed to work on HVAC systems. I kept it since it was a fairly common item at the time. My buddy at the time had his and bought one for me to keep for future use. You can also watch a number of YouTube videos on how to replace these capacitors so you will be more comfortable in doing so. Keep in mind to remove the connector on the power box nearest your outdoor A/C unit. The procedure for clearing the charge from your capacitor while you are removing it will be fairly safe as long as you follow the instructions. You can never be too careful since these bad boys can be dangerous. Sometimes, they can have a charge powerful enough to scare the crap out of you or seriously So watch a few videos on changing them before taking the job on and you should be fine. Despite the fact that I am not an electrical guy, I was able to do the work by myself after viewing the instructions on YouTube. Do not hesitate to send someone over to do it if you have any concerns or reservations. It won't hurt you to know what the parts cost and don't fall for the BS like the guy who treated my unit attempted to tell me that it was a 200 dollar part, needless to say that company will never work at my house.

The Lennox 10ACC is a direct replacement
5/5

Capacitor 97F9834I Dual 35uF / 5uF 370vac for Genteq is a direct OEM-compatible replacement The start/run cap inside Lennox 10ACC air conditioners must be replaced by this replacement part. The first thing you should do when DIYing is It is CRAZY EASY to swap a start/run cap on ANY AC unit. Starting from January 1, 2001, the terminals on start/run caps have been embossed with the They are color-coded, as are the wires that connect to them! Be afraid of hyperbolic declarations that capacitors hold a lethal charge! This capacitor does not hold such a In addition, it continues to remain unchanged after a period of time when no power is applied.
