As long as you purchase a New Capacitor, it should look like the pictures, i.e., it should be shiny and clean. You described the situation differently than you intended. It looks like a new item to me. The capacitor may not matter if it works after you install it, but the white spot and a couple of scuffs may be an issue.
You may have a dual capacitor if it has a number of 55/5. A dual capacitor will be present if your unit has both a fan and a compressor.
It does not matter what shape the capacitor is, as long as the specs match the capacitor that you need. It is possible to make adjustments to the mounting for it to work, but it will without a doubt
Thank you for writing. *br>Hello, I'm glad it reached you. YES, it is a capacitor with a dual run. I was very happy with the results. My carrier AC (installed in 2001) had been using a GE capacitor. GE capacitors are very expensive. I got a call from my AC guy who said that since I had problems with the condenser fan not starting (without help) as well as the compressor not starting, the capacitor was likely the cause. As I watched a few internet videos and saw the existing capacitor had bulges on the top, I ordered it next day delivery in case I noticed the value was higher. As a result, it was fixed. You can see the difference between the old and new capacitor in the photo. A final note Be careful to avoid electrocuting yourself when you attempt to check or replace the cap. Make sure the thermostat and the breakers are off.
Okay, it is rare for something to more or less save your life. We will continue to see high temperatures this week, with temperatures rising to 108°F. the temperature inside the house rise from 77 to 85 in less than 30 minutes. Looking at our running AC compressor, I noticed that the fan on top didn't vibrate. Having tripped the dedicated breaker, I shut down the circuit. Inside, I watched a YouTube video that advised me to push the fan with a long, skinny screwdriver to see if it would spin up to speed if it wasn't spinning. And By lowering the temperature to 68, the air conditioner ran most of the night to keep the home Yesterday, I received the new capacitor I ordered (thank you next-day delivery! A free 1-day Amazon Prime trial). After watching the video and turning off the breaker, grounding the 3 poles on the old capacitor, unplugging each of its poles and plugging in the new capacitor, I was able to have my breaker back on. The inside temperature of my home is 76 degrees while the outside temperature is boiling! Purchased two as a result of the video recommendation.
Suddenly, before my eyes, my home ac unit had stopped blowing cold air (both inside and outside fans were working). The refrigerant in the unit had recently been recharged, so I knew there was no shortage. When I examined the capacitor, its top and bottom were both rounded, and its connectors were rusted. The test was conducted with a multi-body scanner I noticed that neither the fan connector nor the meter gave any readings. A sudden loss of cool air may also be the cause of an ac shutting off! Savings compared to the cost of paying for an emergency service call!.
I knew our ac would probably be a simple fix when it stopped working this summer. My fan was not spinning or lying still, so I figured either the capacitor or motor was the issue. In reality, most people probably do not realize that AC units have only four components to work the coil, the capacitor, the fan, and the compressor. There are quite a few informative videos online that can guide you through the process of creating these. I ordered this online because the unit went down on a weekend and there was no way to get it repaired at a reasonable price. I received it in two days after ordering it online. Having installed and run it within 30 minutes, it did not take any time at all. It is only slightly smaller than what it used to be, so I had to modify the strap that holds it in place because the diameter is smaller.
I knew it was a mistake, haha, but my husband did not believe me. fired right up again and cooled us down! It was going to cost $200 to service the unit, and I had to find $425 to just purchase one, after I called several places looking for one. Not at all. Once again, Amazon is on hand to save the day!.
You can do the same thing on your own for a lot less than having an HVAC guy come out. I was able to remove the old one very easily and replace it with the new one. The computer started up right away after the Warning
There is a lot of potential here. It would be best if you left this to your HVAC repair person if you are not familiar with electricity, discharging capacitors, and the fact that 240V can kill or maim you pretty quickly.
It's a very nice set of A year ago, one of the two air conditioners in my apartment failed. This capacitor was substituted for the old capacitor, and the unit is now functional. Second, my second unit failed and I bought a cheap alternative, but I was unable to reverse it. About a month after I bought it, I learned that the motor had gone It turned the old motor until it died, but getting this again from Amazon was a monumental pain. This capacitor has been running it for the past week since we got the new motor. To sum it all up, these guys push the current that they claim to be pushing. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Due to the fact that the original is now 14 years old, I purchase it as a preventive measure. The time for replacement has come before summer troubles arrive next year. I figured it would fit right in with 2 A 1/2 inch hole was found in the control box on the condenser unit outside! In fact, there was so much speed in the replacement that opening up the unit to get to the parts took longer than the replacement itself! I replaced the contactor as well (I also changed the driver. ).
