My Pentair 340039 SuperFlo High Performance Single Speed Pool Pump has 112 horsepower. This is the exact same pump as my Pentair 340039. Since we have been through two hurricanes in the past year, we have seen NUMBEROUS power surges, flashing lights, and lightning, which put plenty of strain on our Sadly, this is the second capacitor I have purchased in the past 3 years. However, at this price, it is I recently saw a capacitor being sold for almost $50 by the local 'Pool Supply' company! It is a common practice for AC units, fans, etc. to use RUN capacitors at less than $10, however the price of this as it is for a POOL pump is much higher at a nearby pool supply store.
All you have to do is run it to work! The price at this time was so low that I ordered a spare (for storms to come).

A couple of them were purchased. It is used for pool pumps and spa pumps. I am happy with the results. A brief update The sixth week was the end for the other. A buzzing sound has now been heard from the second. The return policy ends two weeks after it was introduced. I'm going to find another brand. I think since they made these more "eco-friendly" and changed them from whatever nasty chemicals they previously used, they just don't last. It used to be that these nasty chemicals would last anywhere from a decade to a century. They just don't withstand the heat of a hot climate for more than a season or two in a pool pump.

The manufacturer wants you to contact a local contractor and just buy a new $750+ pump when I simply needed this $7 part. This was a 50 part! I watched YouTube videos on troubleshooting and capacitor safety, and then replaced the capacitor on my own. Aside from the fact my pool pump wasn't running when it should have, I noticed something else. All it would do was hum when I tried to turn it on. reading reviews and doing some research, I think I might replace my current run capacitor with this one. My package arrived as expected today. It took about two minutes to switch the cards. It was flipping a switch & I started the pump as it should have. The original capacitor that came with my motor was the original capacitor. A Genteq 27L1358 with a 638318-type serial number was included. On it, it says 308 characters. I am very happy with the product, and I appreciate how quickly it was delivered. Congratulations! There was a slight humming upon turning it on, but otherwise nothing. It was also getting extremely hot in the motor case. I decided to try replacing the capacitor after doing a google search. The removal process is very simple. There is a match between the model specifications of the old and new units. This match was identical to the one that had been requested. During installation, there were no problems. The process took less than 5 minutes. Rating of 5 out of 5. A capacitor that appeared to be one from the original (so around 10+ years old). This potentially could lead to a similar life, but it is only 10 dollars, so it is worth a shot.
