Questions & Answers

My GE 97f9856 40-pin cable is not working The capacitor is located on the 5 and 440 pins. One can see that it is a lot fatter and bulkier than Is it possible to substitute this for the other one?

So long as there is the same battery voltage and capacitance, this capacitor will work however, you will need to modify the clamp (or add some rubber padding around the smaller cap) to hold it in place do not let it fall. A round cap replaced an oval cap, and it works perfectly, although I had to modify the hold-down screws and the hold-down lever There is a clamp in the down position. You should always consult an HVAC repair technician or electrician if you are unsure.

Would it be able to be used for a 13 seer outside air conditioner of 3 tons? I won't open the window for the air to cool down. A teck was used and it was working. It is therefore necessary that I obtain COMPASSOR MUST BE STARTED BEFORE running. THANK YOU, Patrick?

Unlike most techs, I don't have a degree. In any case, I can give you a few tips that helped me fix my outside central air unit. Manually jump starting your unit can be accomplished by spinning the fan, using a screwdriver or a stick. The best option if it runs is to replace the capacitors. A technician gave me a quote of $150. I was able to replace mine myself for around To make sure you buy the closest to the original, try to buy it from the same manufacturer. Taking pictures or righting notes is also helpful. It is simply a matter of replacing the old one with the new one in the same process

Do you know if this capacitor is Could you please tell me the frequency and if I need 50/60 hz? Could you please tell me what the tolerance is I Is that 6%?

Can't understand what you mean when you say If you need to match the old capacitor with something new in terms of Hz, you can do that. Added or subtracted The capacitor will not work efficiently if the percentage is less than 6%. As long as the capacitor is replaced for an air conditioner condenser, the Hz will be adequate. Installation is possible as long as the air handler is installed with it The condenser breaker must be shut off or both disconnects must be disconnected. During the installation, a protective cap will be placed over the capacitor. As soon as you mount it, make sure it's the same way you mounted the old one.

Can you tell me where this capacitor is Do you live in the US, China, or somewhere else?

Originally from China, this capacitor is made of plastic.

Air that is not too cold, but good
5/5

I replaced the capacitor with this one and the problem was solved! Around 17 years old, the AC unit in question is. Since the beginning of September, I never had a problem with it. going to have it replaced through Costco, and it was going to cost me between six and ten thousand dollars. As a result, I researched how to troubleshoot and see how hard/easy it is to replace the capacitor, and if that doesn't work, I go to Costco, and they will replace and install it for me. I go out to our ac unit and it is blowing cold air and I know that it is supposed to be blowing hot air in order to have cold air blowing from the vent duct into our house. I think the problem is in the vent duct. The capacitor has gone bad. Hence, I ordered a new capacitor, which was $20, from Amazon and changed it out! I've worked it out! It is God who has saved me! I love the feeling of cold air! As of now, I am a very happy camper, thank you,.

I want the air to be cold

Have you lost your air conditioner? The blower works and you think the compressor catches, but you are not sure if that is also the cause but the temperature inside the house keeps going up? I think we have all seen some results with this-- many of us You should inspect the condenser and its surrounding area as well as the central AC system. A busted condenser will display a bulge, or there will be a small amount of oily residue around it. You only need to pay a small fee Only rarely does it exceed thirty dollars DIY and get back to Netflix in a comfortable temperature by getting back to your DIY project. Don't let the cat out of the bag If you receive a replacement, treat it with extreme caution Do not rush and turn off the AC power. Let the system cool completely before turning it back on. It's always a good idea to turn off the power completely if you're unsure. However, it is common for there to be a fuse right next to the outside Turn it off if it is on. So you won't have to guess what to do, take pictures before removing the old condenser or capacitor. You should also keep in mind that an old capacitor, if it is not faulty, may have residual charge that can cause an electric shock. The prongs were made from wood and I used them You will have a great time! Take a look at these YouTube videos as well There may be a lot of value in them for you.

I can see the GE Genteq Capacitor in operation! Amazon has the best prices and shipping in the world, so thanks for your great products and excellent prices! I have a problem with my air conditioner
5/5

As the temperature in the house began to rise, it shot from 73 degrees to 86 degrees in no time. I am not comfortable with that! However, I ordered the capacitor within 2 days, and it arrived right away! Once the fan started running again after switching it out and turning the power back on, the unit began to cool down! After the night's journey, I was back in a cool house once more! The GE Genteq capacitor offered for a great price by North American HVAC would not have been possible with out Amazon and the GE Genteq capacitor offered by Amazon! Hundreds of dollars were saved as a result! You saved my children from boiling heat and I am indebted to you for it!.

Approximately once every five years, our Carrier outdoor unit needs to be serviced for its start/run capacitor. The former unit came w/ this model and manufacture. It's been replaced 4 years ago before it began having issues. This was a relatively easy installation and I've noticed the HVAC outdoor unit is running more efficiently. Hopefully it will last as long as the original unit.

It was a life saver

It is useful for when the air conditioner in your outdoor area stops working and you do not want to summon a technician. I always keep one on hand just in case something goes wrong in the middle of a hot summer night. The AC unit can be changed with relative ease just be sure to cut the power before you handle it. A capacitor is also nearly impossible to obtain in any local store at this time (Boise, The following quick tip will help you Check to make sure it's connected correctly according to the diagram on your A/C unit if it's backwards, the fan will turn backwards and that means you won't be able to blow air but instead will be sucking Your system will not cool properly when it is exposed to this issue and over time it may even become damaged.

My repair bill has been lowered by a few hundred dollars
4/5

I am not sure what to say, as if you made it this far, you are knowledgeable enough about what you are seeking to recognize what you are not There are two separate zones in my house upstairs and downstairs on the main floor and in the basement. After I looked on Google and youtube and watched some video links, I was able to determine I have a bad capacitor. My original one was a GE 30/5 UF MFD 440 Volt - I replaced it with our replacement one. As per my original plan, I ordered one from Amazon, came in and installed it and it works well. I had considered getting two, but thought the chances of my other unit going up would be as slim as winning the lottery, so I would gamble and take my chances since the initial one was $50. As fate would have it, my other unit also stopped running about 2 weeks later, so back to Amazon we go to buy another capacitor. Guess The weather outside is 90 degrees and I don't have AC in my main part of the house. Researchers told me I could do it step-by-step but I don't know where to start Our next step will be to look at the MFD 440 Volt GE 40/5 uf This is important Obviously I am not an HVAC Guy, so what worked for me may not work for you, do some research first, I was advised not to go too high, notice that I went from a 30/5 UF to a 40/5 UF I bought two of the larger units, which were almost half the price of my original purchase(Yes, I ordered two this time. ). (I wish I had known about upsizing the first time. There is about 5-foot of wire between the new capacitor and (1) wire, so disconnect it slowly and reconnect it to the component at a time. The wires are a total of 6, and getting them mixed up would lead to problems you wouldn't even think about. Marking the wires might also be a good I literally take five minutes to do it The AC takes about ten minutes to change out, you will need a few tools to remove the cover plate, in my case a 10mm socket worked, and I was back doing cold air. I now turn my attention to the company My order came from an Amazon third party seller. Shipping was quick (I had the package in four days). The units came in a large shipping envelope surrounded by bubble wrap, so hopefully my HVAC repair days are behind me for the time being. For those who are a little inexperienced and are going to try replacing this, be sure to turn off the AC at the thermostat and remove the fuse from the disconnect box on the AC unit itself before you do anything. use a breakerswitch instead of a fuse. Wait for about 5 minutes before reconnecting it) It takes a capacitor 10 minutes to "discharge" . Once it is discharged, you replace the component. Electricity should not be used as a means of suicide. ITB *Br* TJB.
