Questions & Answers

Is it a wg 733? 3 as well as a 733 wg Is it the same for 14d?

Yes. 3 is the original factory motor, and - is the aftermarket version. The 14D replacement / service part number is printed on the box.

Is this a replacement for a WG 733- ?

I believe that is the case but I am 100% certain. If it has an acorn-sized gear in the back, I believe this is the replacement.

Does this take the place of WG1590?

No, it won't be able to take the place of a WG-. Sorry, it's 1590.

Is this motor going to be a replacement for part number 733? 2 and is it 3 watts with c/w rotation?

All of these questions have a positive answer. WG733- The number 2 denotes a factory-installed motor, whereas the number WG733- denotes a motor that has been modified. The 14D is a replacement motor that comes in a box.

My issue was quickly solved
5/5

The yellow timer wheel has stopped spinning, and there is no timed sprinkler! I was able to fix it thanks to two helpful knuckleheads on YouTube. Everything is working now since I replaced the old motor with this one. You'll need a torx screwdriver (I used a 9, but someone else said a 10) and some patience. A cheap set can be found for around $5 at Home Depot or here. I dropped the small screws several times in the dirt, and it's amazing that I was able to locate them. But I don't think that this product suffers because of it.

If you know what you're doing, it's simple to set up
5/5

If you're not sure what you're doing and your timer is 220, consider having it installed by a professional. Turn off the power and double-check that it's turned off, or it'll bite you! Then, after laying down a towel or large piece of cloth underneath, replace one wire at a time, because you'll almost certainly drop one or both of the tiny short screws, as I did. Make certain you don't lose them because they aren't just any old screw. It's easier if you secure the new motor to the box, which relieves the strain on the wire you're trying to connect. This may sound as if I'm trying to make it more complicated, but the screw is tiny, and the space where it goes is even smaller, making it difficult to control. This ham-handed old geezer would have been better served by a woman with small fingers! Even with a screwdriver that is magnetized!.

It is necessary to purchase this item
5/5

Great productbr>Exact replacement part; sprinkler timer was fixed in less than 10 minutes. br>If the yellow clock does not turn but the pump can be turned on and off manually, the problem is with the clock motor. This product is extremely simple to replace, and I demonstrated how to do so on YouTube.

I was able to save a significant amount of time and effort
5/5

I took a chance because I wasn't sure if the timer as a whole or just the motor was broken, and I didn't want to have to buy both. I assumed that the gears in these motors would eventually break, so there's a good chance it's just the motor. I had been correct all along. It wasn't much more than this to buy a brand new timer. However, replacing / installing a completely new one would have taken a lot more time and effort. It only took about 5 minutes for this motor to get back to normal.

Intermatic WG733 Clock Motor Buyer Beware The timer motor is a complete shambles
3/5

I believe I received a defective timer motor because it does not function properly. The motor does not keep accurate time; I believe it is due to a faulty gear. I'm not going to buy anything from this seller again, and the return period has passed.

My automatic timer on my intermatic stopped working
5/5

I'd never worked with sprinkler systems, timers, or pumps before, so I either had to learn or hire some jerk who'd take advantage of me and ruin the job. I learn about this little nugget inside, that the automatic timer can fail due to a faulty plastic gear or something else. It's worth $25 to give it a shot, and it worked out. My sprinkler system is now back up and running.

fixed it
5/5

I wish I'd known this was an option when I replaced the entire unit about 2 years ago. The timer is simple to install (be sure to turn off the breaker to it when doing so), and it works great. It's also a lot less expensive than replacing the entire unit.

It was the perfect fit and functioned admirably, but it only lasted a year
3/5

I'm not happy with how long this part lasts, but it's too much trouble to drive all over town looking for one, so I'm going to buy another. Hopefully, by the time this one passes away, the house will have been sold and the problem will have been passed down to someone else.
