It's not like they're at a 90-degree angle. I have a couple of nema steppers, but they won't fit in the 570oz. Look for items that are made with care by the manufacturers. Because 'CNCing' is a precision industry, you'd think these brackets would be near-perfect, but they're lame, lean, and poorly made.
My steppers fit perfectly in the mount. It's simple to put them together. The slots allow you to fine-tune the stepper placement.
It was a perfect fit for a NEMA 23. You'll need to figure out how to attach the other side to your machine, of course.

Exactly what I needed for my 425 oz steppers. They appear to be sturdy and well-built, but I have yet to put them into action.
Holes are square and sturdy, and they line up. There's nothing more that can be said.
