Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
5/4 inch cutting length, 3 inch total length Solid Carbide spiral router bit with 1/2 inch shank and 3/8 inch cutting diameter
The CNC End Mill is ideal for working with plywood, oak, MDF, and other hardwoods, and it has a long service life.
Spiral bits produce a cleaner edge and top surface than straight bits when downcutting grooves and slots, mortises, cycles, and dados.
The route bit is compatible with CNC routers and plunge routers from Makita, Bosch, and any other manufacturer with a 1/2" collet.
To ensure the best performance, industrial quality control is used.

Questions & Answers

Is it possible to mortise it with a standard router?

Yes, but it is not recommended because it is designed to be used on a CNC machine.

This bit is ideal for use on solid surfaces
5/5

Despite the fact that I closed my shop a few years ago, I am a certified Corian fabricator and installer. Now that we've decided to remodel my own kitchen pantry, I'm out of tooling. When it comes to solid surface, spiral bits are always the better choice for rough cuts, mirror seams, and smooth edging. Solid carbid bits from Velapic and even Amana are simply too expensive for a single job. On Amazon, I came across this Chinese-made tool and decided to try it out. It cost less than a fifth of the price of the professional cutters. I highly recommend it because it did the job at a fraction of the cost. It's very smooth and clean. From the pass, there were no more ridges. Stunningly precise. When plunging or ripping, it has a tendency to pull you along, so be careful to keep your router firmly in place and move slowly! Bit came with its own storage container. This cutter has a 1/2" shank and a 3/8" shank, which is ideal for Corian. br>Here's how it went down in my life: For my Skil-Cut, I needed to buy a bowl bit ($75), a Porter Cable router guide ($22), and a triple chip blade. Saw is a $40 film. All of this is necessary. The job was completed flawlessly and professionally, thanks to the help of a relative who loaned me a router. By the way, I've built over a hundred kitchen counters professionally. I will tell anyone who reads this that a router with a rating of 2 is required. If you're going to use this spiral bit on a solid surface, you'll need a motor with a minimum of 25 horsepower! You won't be able to get away with a single Harbor Freight horse. You'll rip the material and possibly snap this bit if you blow it out. You can, however, make use of the 2. As I did with excellent results, I purchased a 5 HP Harbor Freight plunge router ($100). Nothing beats the Porter Cable 3 if you've got the cash. 5 HP or FesTool routers (each $450) are the industry standard. After all was said and done, the Corian sheet cost me $950. a drain bits, and adhesive tools. When compared to Home Depot, which wanted $3250 for a small L-shaped countertop, this is a bargain. Caution: If you've never worked with solid surface before, don't waste your money. Your investment could be ruined by a single blunder.

Although sharp, it isn't perfectly accurate
4/5

This bit was purchased to cut dados in three tool holders for a Lathe Spindle Duplicator that I am building. The cutting tools must be mounted in a 3/8" slot in the handles. The cutting tools wouldn't fit in the slots, so I used this bit to cut them. I used a micrometer to determine the bit's size, which was 0. 371" is 4 thou short of the zero. It's supposed to be 375". The shanks of the cutting tools were 0. 375". A quick adjustment with a wood rasp fixed the problem, but I expected CNC bits to be the size advertised when I bought them. br>br>However, I still gave the segment four stars. It's razor-sharp, and it cut a nice, clean line in one pass. It's worth the money if you don't require 100% accuracy.

Box joints will love it
5/5

I purchased this bit with the intention of using it on a router table to cut box joints. It's ideal for this: There is no tearout on the tips of the fingers, and only a small amount on the faces of the joints (which are concealed anyway). So far, it's been great value for the money, though I've only cut about 50 joints, so only time will tell how long it stays sharp.

This is an excellent resource

It really works! If it was a carbide tip, that would be ideal.

Cuts well, but can be difficult to control
3/5

Cuts well, but can be difficult to control. I like it, but I have another router that works better with it.
