Holders have the part numbers of inserts etched on them which I like a lot. This product is good for the price and works well. You can cut plenty of 304 stainless steel as well as other materials without any problems. We would buy from them.

This is the first time I used the set. It appears to be a good quality set. I used the set on my first turn and was impressed by the quality of the cut. It looks like the box liner is glued in upside down since all of the tools fit with the cutters facing down where they cannot be seen. The purchase is still a good one. In my dream world, I would like to be able to add an additional set of inserts for each tool so that I would keep one spare hand for each.

There are many wonderful things about this cutter set. All of them seem to have some form of rust preventive on them which should be cleaned completely off. It should be noted that, if the carbide insert is not cleaned before use, the heat from cutting metal will seize the little screw that holds the insert. In the end, it is almost impossible to remove the insert and then replace it. After that is done, there is no better set of tools available.

Years of longevity are to be expected from these What I am referring to are the base tool parts. They can be replaced when worn out and are expected to last for a long time.

This is a good place to start. The cost of new inserts may not be worth it. As far as I'm concerned, they helped me get started with lathe work without being concerned with learning geometries of tool bits, and grinding.
