Which size threads can you cut with these inserts, and what is the biggest size insert that you can use?

120 degree tri angle inserts for threading, use them at 120 degrees in the opposite direction. You would be able to determine the thread pitch with the threading lead screw depending on the thread cutting gears that your lathe can use. You will generally have a limit to how many threads you can use on your lathe. There are around 8 or 10 threads per inch and maybe 11 if it's close. You can even get away with even less than that. The gears it has determine how fast it can go. Lathe manufacturers differ in terms of their lowest thread per inch capabilities, to their maximum thread per inch capabilities. You can find out what limits your lathe has in its user manual.

These inserts can be turned into wood. Are they suitable for this purpose?

It is an excellent value for beginners or hobbyists

In addition to stainless steel, tool steel, 4140, and a few other materials I have tried them on, they work great. They also make insert holders made by the same company, and they are exceptionally well made. Although I have heard that the edges are not as durable as some of the industrial grade inserts, at such an excellent price, I am not scared to make stupid beginner mistakes with these.

The best tool out there

They work great and I am totally surprised by how well they do. There is no comparison between these and the name brand. Having worked on mild and tool steel, I was able to get very clean cuts and the tool lasted a long time. These are the best you can get for the price. It is not possible to buy 30 of these inserts for the price of three name brand inserts.

A low price is not always indicative of quality! In contrast, I have spent thousands on different inserts and, unless they have a very specific use, there is not a lot of difference

In addition to their great performance, these inserts leave an outstanding When you must hog out material, do a good job of it. Please keep your finish pass with you at all times. In the 010-class We will make you very happy if you use code 020 DOC. That's what I know.
