The inserts do come with them. There are dangers. This item was ordered as 5/16” but I received it as 5/16”. When I contacted the seller about it, I didn't receive any response.
Specifically, I am using them to turn metal on a bench top If you were turning hardwood, you might be able to use them.

It did not take any force to remove all five. As the screws are tiny, you don't want to force them, so use the wrench wiggle a bit and the screw will come loose. Nevertheless, if you don't wash the shipping film off, and use them as is, the screws will bond from the heat produced through cutting, making them difficult to remove when necessary, so take them apart and clean them well, especially the threads, before you use them. As far as I can tell, based on the insert, they will cut well, and seem to be well made. I haven't used them yet, but based on the insert, they seem Whenever I find out that they didn't cut accordingly, I'll update this post.
It is not possible to change the cutter on these knives. The Unimat is what I picked up to use on it. It was a breeze to turn mild steel. There were nice long curls of chippings produced by this cutter, which stood out from the rest of my The edge of my pen eventually dulled My cutter will be rotated, no problem. The T6 driver supplied by the manufacturer was used to loosen the screw, and bingo! An item of the screw driver broke off in the head of the screw. Because it is too small to fit any of my broken screw extractors, that tool is being discarded. The T6 driver bits I had on hand, so that's what I tried to loosen one of the other screws with. The bit didn't break, but it did twist like a Despite the screw's movement, it stayed in place. Suddenly, it occurred to me that these screws may have reversed threads. Using another T6, I turned the screw the other way and got the same results a mangled bit and a screw that refuses to Due to this, I don't have any way of replacing dull When they lose their edge, they will just be a waste of time, so I think these are great until they lose their edge.
Today, I pushed my luck with one of them, taking a 0 as a result. My 14 pieces needed a step cut into them, so I had to make 150 deep cuts about 1/2 inch long. As I've come to expect from these with original inserts, the inserts are still in good shape and the finish is just as good. I've also been working with these very nicely for cutting faces, and I can do a depth of cut as low as The tool has no trouble flying over the steel and laughs at it.
It almost dinged 1 star because mine arrived missing the Torx drivers, but I had the right ones (very small, but they worked) I think the T8 driver bit has already been provided, so there is not much to worry about. All of them need a 0 out of the box. Initially, I used a 024" shim to cut on center with the stock tool post, but I have since upgraded to a quick change tool post from Little Machine Shop, so I am no longer using Having taken up to a 0, I have taken up to a 1. With Tap Magic and WD-40, we got a clean finish on mild steel and 6061 aluminum threads (using a depth of cut of 025"). I use 40 gallons of cutting fluid for each job). Don't go trying to hog the material out, however, as these are very small insert bits.
Having been adamant about staying away from replaceable tips since they are so small in the quarter Although it is bit smaller, I am really impressed with the super sharp angles and some interesting things that it has to offer. The work is very good. You can cut it.
good tools for larger applications, but not for small ones. The carbide tools are best for work like turning down diameters and the like, but for fine work you should use the full-carbide equivalents.
You look great and the cut is The quality is excellent. I like the way they look and how they are cut. Inserts can be easily found in replacements. If you need to order additional inserts, measure the thickness of the included ones first.
It works great with a fly cutter when I put one into it. In steel, the insert holds up decently, but not very well in stainless steel. On aluminum, however, the insert leaves a mirror finish if you spin it faster than normal. The product is well worth the price and is strong enough for what I intended to use it for. It would be a good recommendation and I would buy it.
