Questions & Answers

What kind of metal case does this drill set come with? Is it the one pictured or some other? Different cases are being received by customers. ?

I am 17 years old and I live in The metal I found in mine There are a number of differences from what was A particularly low-quality product it is impossible to see the markings, and it is difficult to remove the bits. A metal index is not like a standard In my experience, several of these sets have come with metal cases before, but this is the first to have metal. This is a terrible disappointment.

What are the chances that it was made in America?

Despite its indication that it's made in Mexico, the tool itself is made in China.

There are no shanks to spin It does not Does the slip feature (flat) apply to smaller bits too?

Three sixteenths of an inch and up is a flat shank, the smaller are round.

Have these ever been used to drill into steel beams? There is an image of an iron beam on the box. ?

Those are the only things I use them for. Any grade of steel can be used. These tools are ideal for using with a drill press, since they can be a bit aggressive and may break in a hand drill if not used carefully. Despite this, they have no trouble going through steel. Tap Magic is my go-to program when it comes to hard

Selected User Reviews For DEWALT Titanium Drill Bit Set with Pilot Point, 29-Piece (DW1369)

As a result of the crappy case these bits came in, I gave this a two star review
3/5

You may think this is unfair, but I think you should spend $67 if you intend to get anything. If you are going to spend $90 plus tax for such a great bit set, it need to come with an equally well made There is a metal index drill box that came with this set, which is fine. The question is, the rows of bits on the back side of the index box cannot be easily removed for access to the bits on the front There can be a problem pulling out the larger pieces in the back row when this happens. The price tag is ridiculous and Dewalt makes a real donkey punch with this product. It's a real donkey punch. A job of this kind costs really high money, and I get a subordinate job that's not up to standard. It would be tempting to just buy a Houl box from Amazon, but I question it. Therefore, I bought the smaller 19 piece titanium pilot point set that contains 21 pieces. It is in a plastic case that is easy to access and contains 99 cards. The fact is, I do not like plastic, nor do I prefer it. For me, the ease of access is the most important factor. I should have listened to the other reviews that said the same thing, but I assumed that they were just mad because the case was metal. The case is a waste of time. Be aware of your surroundings. As this is an open metal container, dust will wind up inside if you work on a job site and drop it in the dirt or mud, which will ruin the bits inside. That would be a waste of time. You may not see much of a difference if you're a weekend warrior. Professionals are advised to take this into account.

Thin metal had been used for this case The plastic case listed in the advertisement is NOT the case you receive
3/5

There is already one set of these bits in my collection Having them as friends is a great thing. There was a nice plastic case included with my set. Separate rows of bits swing out and the bit-holder swings out at the same time Each row shows the size clearly on both the front and back side. This is a very convenient and friendly website. Thus, I bought a second set of Dewalt tools (Dewalt # 1369) for my son. As I noted in the advertisement, the drill bit set was advertised with the exact same plastic case I already had, and the specs stated that the case In the end, the service I received was a major A thin metal case made of cheap materials was used in the case. There are locked rows of bits There is no swinging out of them. As soon as the bits were taken out of the case, they were difficult to replace. A thin piece of thin metal was already bent and damaged during shipment, and the smaller pieces had all fallen to the bottom of the box, making them nearly impossible Thankfully, the set was covered by a 30 day warranty, so it was sent back the A replacement was ordered for no charge. If the case is replaced, I hope the new case is plastic with swing-out rows.

I've got the second batch of them
5/5

These drill bits were the first set I bought several years ago. Eventually they began to wear out and look Few of my friends had fallen by the wayside. That's why I bought the same set a second time. I liked the set very much. You will have it for at least a As far as I'm concerned, the holders for the bits have been replaced with plastic ones instead of metal ones. As a result, I used my old holder to fix the problem. A problem with the new holder is that the bit sizes are printed on it. As paint wears off, it becomes dull. As the old holder is stamped with the sizes, the current one does not. Honestly, that's all I have to gripe about. I still highly recommend this set despite those issues. These products work well and last a long time. It'll be easier to find odd bit sizes since you won't have to do that.

There are other drill sets like this, but this is the largest set that I've ever owned
5/5

What else is there to say? This is a DeWalt! I've owned other drills like this, but this is the largest set that I own. A good point seems to be kept on them and they seem to last well. The last set I had lasted for more than 12 years, and I still have a few parts Steel, stainless steel, and aluminum are among the materials I frequently drill with them. In some cases, softer materials like plastic might be used. I drill sheet metal up to 1" thick when it comes to steel. If I use the right drill, I can drill several holes in 1" plate steel before replacing it or re-installing it We need to sharpen up a little Some pieces of furniture on my property last a number of years, while others become dulled or broken due to my personal mistreatment It is more of a failure to use the bit than of the bit itself. There is no way I can retake the exam Pilots need to be sharpened - As a result, I will keep using a standard twist drill for some of my drilling.

I was so impressed with the quality, but I did not plan to finish it
4/5

The pilot point has a top quality appearance, but be sure you understand how it works, the larger bits will catch wood and pull hard, so depending on the material, you may need a strong The tap will not just slow down and go slowly, it will rip right You can drill super clean holes with the bigger bits and a hand drill, so the quality is great, but don't plan on finish quality.

This is the second time I have purchased them
5/5

After many years of abuse, I broke one of the old ones. I am extremely pleased with the product, however the only complaint I have is that the sizes on the container are impossible to read because the numbers on the sides are obscured On the back of the box there is a list that I use to count back or forward to the size I need.

This is a great drill bit! Unlike plastic cases, these cases are made of metal, so they don't close as easily, making it a little trickier to remove and replace them
5/5

Although I like seeing it nicely sealed, I worry it will fray over time. However, I have acquired the habit of pulling out and placing it back into the case after a few times of using it. In terms of the bits themselves, they are by far the nicest I've ever used, I can tell they'll last for years. The tools have been used to add a peep hole to an entry door made of metal or wood, as well as to bolt a machine table to the ground made of concrete. The smaller bits often make me nervous, but not with the quality of these. They are very well made! It would be great to purchase another set, even if I didn't know I would need to purchase another.
