Selected User Reviews For BOSCH CO2159B 1/2 In. x 6 In. Cobalt M42 Drill Bit
That's too bad, I hate puns as well. It's my fault. My battles with DeFawlt and other big box store bit kits have lasted for several years. It never felt like they cut very much, they dull quickly, or simply broke from using them all the time. I decided these for about $30 were fairly similar to the Drill America kits I've been getting at Slome Despot and I didn't want to carry Drill Hog for work. The Drill America bits fluctuate in price too much, so I decided on these for about $30. Cobalt is the name of the brand!
Love The steel I have been cutting cuts like There is no slippageing between them, so you can chuck directly up to them without worrying about them breaking. Even the smaller bits have not broken since there is no need to put pressure on them when drilling. As is typical with Bosch tools and bits, these are no exception to the rule.
In choosing the drill bits I had a difficult time deciding, until I decided on BOSH I thought they were of good quality, but as soon as I received them I realized that the small bits did not have much tip, they looked flat, but when drilling they slipped through There seems to be an odd alignment of the big bits, as I can see from the picture, when I drill the metal, it does so as a triangle. While the bits appear good quality, it seems I touched a defective batch. I would like to hear from Bosch as to whether I will be receiving other bits in good condition and a response.
There are some really good drill bits in this set. The tool cut through hardened 1/2" steel in a matter of seconds. You should be careful to go slowly and to The bit and metal should not be exposed to too much heat. Wood is also a material he works with. Cheap bits work on wood, but not on metal. If you have to drill steel, then you will need bits that work. This bit of plastic is hard, and people tend to break or crumble things that are hard. You'll have a better chance if you take it easy.
Using my Ducati license plate holder as a drill bit, I had to drill through some stainless steel sheet metal. It went right through the Bosch cobalt drill bits. I tried using some cheap drill bits I have at home, but to no avail. Research led me to find out that using a slow speed on the drill was the key to success. This is a high quality drill bit that is ideal for drilling stainless steel and other hard materials.
A high standard of Definitely worth it. I had a large set of cheap bits and this will last me for a long time. For tapcons, I'm trying to drill through 1/4" plate above my head and also concrete. I was able to do the job 100 times faster with these. Spending money well was a wise decision. If drilling is not done properly, negative reviews may occur You will ruin any steel bit no matter how good it is if you are using high pressure and low speed.
When I called Bosch, they told me that these bits were impossible to use with drywall screws! My only problem was a drywall screw. I drilled a few holes in aliminum bar which is about 1/4" thick without any problems at all! As far as Bosch is concerned, I have made my last purchase from them. It must be said that the representative who talked to me was helpful he put me on hold to find out why the bits cannot be used to embed screws in drywall. Due to the hardness of the screw, I was advised to use a black onix bit. I know what you need, a drywall screw. When I have time I'll just go to Harbor Freight, buy a cheap drill bit, and toss it out, just like Bosch bits.
It's been a long time since I've gone through a drill bit. It was not bad at all for the price but I decided to buy a higher quality set with these. I have already put these through a good deal of punishment, but they keep on drilling through everything with no problem. The bits hold up well, so I'll have to wait a while before I have to buy any more! I would definitely buy these again if I had to, but given how well they are holding up, it will be a while before I have to!.
The Bosch 3/8-inch cobalt drill bit arrived yesterday morning, so I drilled ten holes through a flat steel bar that is about 2 inches thick and 6 feet long in 45 minutes yesterday. The bar in the top right corner is for re-ordering Attaching a wood roof support beam (bolted to the side of the beam) to a small porch project. During my time at work, I spent most of it Using the bar for each successive hole took a little over a minute, and actually drilling each hole took about the same time. In May I purchased a small Rockwell drill press from Amazon for about $180 which is now selling for about $200. It was this particular bit that I chose because the 3 small flats on its shank tend to prevent any slippage in a chuck jaw, and it did not slip at all. As I drilled each hole, I sprayed the drill bit several times with black cutting oil while running the drill at 600 rpm. To sum up, it is important to The bit should be kept cutting, and it should be backed out several times so that it can cool and the shavings can be disposed of. Even a few months after it was bought, the drill bit is as good as new. I gave it five stars because I could not find anything comparable.
