There looks like a 1/4 inch shank. Maybe a 1/6 inch. They aren't in front of me, but they are on the line of 1/4". Although they worked well with metals, I found they were horrible with wood as I tested them with wood for a project I was working on.
The following places There is probably a China factor involved. Where can I find Steel that has high tensile strength. They're pretty good at what they do. The 1/4-inch steel I usually use is very well made and I have been very pleased with the results.
Plexiglass works just fine with it. Make sure you don't rush the job and don't put too much pressure on the drill. Make sure that the bit is lit and do the work slowly and deliberately.

Cobalt and Titanium bits look like they are made of cobalt, but they're actually made of titanium. I understand the price suggests they aren't cobalt, but they actually give them that appearance because of anodizing or coating. In any case, these will work fine for most sheet metals, or good for light hole popping in general. I would also recommend Tacklife's budget unibit sets they seem to work about as well, if not a little better,.
I am a locksmith with to dig holes in steel doors and frames on a regular basis and I have used these bit for a year. After all that time they are still in good condition and function In terms of cost, I think that you're pretty darn good considering that you get four great bits for the price of one name brand bit. The fact is that I would STILL buy them again, since I've already more than gotten my money's worth out of them. I still think all four bits would go bad tomorrow.
I use these in an industrial setting and they get the job done, even up to 1/4 inch plate with oil on them. The price is right and they last for a long time and don't cost $200 to replace when they're finally used. While they last just as long as Irwin units, they are less expensive than true cobalt steel bits, which only the rich can afford.
Sturdy and excellent, this case is a great option.
My attempt to enlarge a hole in an 18/32" thick steel piece appears to be as good as it gets, but the item appears to be of quality. No marks were left on the stock as the bit turned and turned. With this crap Chinese tool, you couldn't even bore a hole in warm butter. I'd like to get rid of the Chinese crap.
In order to drill two holes in a stainless steel brew kettle, I bought this bit set. I was able to drill through the hard surface with no problem using the bit. I wasn't happy with the case that they came in when I opened the box, but since I paid for the bits and not necessarily a pretty box, I'm fine with it.
These gentle holes in aluminum are easy to open with this tool. During the assembly of components at our warehouse, they are used to enlarge knock outs / create knock outs for electrical wire. There is no reason to not buy this set if you go to t he big box home stores. They are well worth the price at $50 for one of them.
Case is decent, but the foam does not fit well with the bits.
