In this case, the hole should be 3/8 inches in diameter since you are using the large Tapcon (3/8). With the smaller size Tapcons, an undersize bit is used. In most cases, these larger Tapcons are supposed to hold in place as well, or better,

Please note! This drill bit is intended for only one type of drill! You cannot use a hammer drill with it! If you wish to drill holes in concrete or masonry, do not buy this unless you are also planning to purchase a drill with it. It is unbelievably sleazy of companies to use so much junk like this to push us into buying their brands.
Well, that's not what I expected from this brand. The drill ran into a problem when drilling the holes for my safe anchor, and it just stopped drilling at about two inches in the first hole. We decided to give it a little 'weight,' but it didn't effect My second attempt at starting a hole failed. Not at all. I spun on the concrete just to get a feel of it. A smooth feeling already emanated from the tip. It is a waste of both time and money. Eventually I went to Home Depot and picked up a different brand bit, and it worked without any issue.
Neither this masonry bit nor the masonry bit it replaced could This tool was dull and could not be I am concerned that the drill bit could break under tension since it is quite long. (See Wikipedia for details). It has a SDS shank with four slots. With the 3 jaw chuck on my drill, I was unable to get this bit centered. A drill bit from a different manufacturer was used I cut through it.
I was able to cut through the pad like butter with this bit. While it felt like the bit was sinking into the chuck, in reality it simply ripped through In addition, I managed to hit a piece of rebar that I had set into Although it slowed down, it was also able to cut through it. The bit is very impressive and I highly recommend it.
For the eight 3" holes I needed for a shed base, I used this bit perfectly. As I attempted to drill four additional 3" holes later to construct a second shed, I only managed to partially drill two holes before it would no longer drill.
From the looks of the drill tip, it has rounded edges and is clearly worn rather than sharp. The quality I expected when I purchased Bosch is not what I received.
In order to install 1/4 plastic anchors, the correct drill size is 7/32. I do so as an employee. When it comes to installing 1/4 plastic anchors, everyone always believes that 1/4 drill is the correct size. Plastic anchors are often tapered, so a 1/4 drill is too large and the anchor will spin in the hole as the screw is turned, which will cause the anchor to fail. Therefore, 7/32 is the correct size since plastic anchors are tapered.
We will be releasing two bits during the course of the project. This is an impressive bit. A really good quality bit that is worth the price.
A durable bit that would drill pilot holes into concrete for Tapcon screws was what I needed. It was great to use this drill! The concrete glided through without a hitch. Voici a tip Once the holes have been drilled, be sure to vacuum them out. Taking the screw or anchor bolt out of the nut will improve the fit.
