They are the same size, unless they lie about their size. Some places call 1/4" shanks 6mm, but they are actually NOT the same size.

It wasn't possible to insert the bolt on the steel gate in the hole on the garden shed, so I had to make a hole lower on it. The tool allowed us to shave off enough to allow the door to be locked again with minimal damage to the door. I purchased it for an affordable price. It is still in good shape.
