Questions & Answers

Is this something that can be done on a bandsaw for metal cutting? If your machine is currently set up to cut metal, would you like to change it to cut wood?

Sure. Whatever type of saw you have, it's essentially a machine with two wheels spinning a blade. It will cut wood if you attach a woodcutting blade to it. It will cut metal if you use a metal-cutting blade on it. The basic principle is the same. Do you get it?

What makes this blade different from the Timberwolf blade tw 3423vpc 09350 (also available on Amazon)?

The blade on the 3423 vpc is 3/4 inch wide and has a tooth density of 2 to 3 teeth per inch. This lowers blade resonance and results in a smoother cut.

How fast can this timber wolf blade go (in feet per minute)?

It all depends on how powerful your saw's motor is and what kind of wood you're cutting.

Resaws Oak and Maple with a razor-sharp edge and no drift
5/5

This was purchased to go with my Grizzly GO555 14" bandsaw. For resawing, I needed a blade. It's a replacement for a similar blade that I broke by accident. Some reviews claim that this blade is a knockoff because of the low price, but my previous Timber Wolf blade came from a well-known national distributor and was packaged in the same way, with no identifying information on the blade. When viewed side by side, the two blades appear to be identical and feel the same. I installed the blade, and because I'm a perfectionist, I tested it on a piece of 2" red oak first. It quickly and cleanly cut a 1/16" thin piece from a 30" board, with no drift. Following that, I attempted to resaw a 3 1/2" x 28" curly maple board. It was cut cleanly and straightly without any drift by the blade. The cut piece had a 1/100" difference between one end and the other, according to my micrometer. I didn't use a resaw fence; I just used the fence that came with the saw. This is an excellent resaw blade. br>br> It will resaw quickly and cleanly if it is installed properly. Reduce blade tension on the gage by one blade size, as with any Timber Wolf blade. Instead of the 3/4" mark, mine is set at 1/2". You should be able to resaw without drifting if you center the blade on the bandsaw tires and the guide bearings on the blade's center. br>br>Complaints are directed at Amazon rather than the seller. It's a mess with your package tracking. After the package was delivered, I did not receive notification from Amazon that it had been shipped. Don't bother if you can't catch up in less than three days. What's the harm in using USPS or UPS tracking in the first place? They are far superior to you in terms of tracking.

Wood is quickly consumed and the surface is left smooth
4/5

I used to have a 14-inch band saw with fine-tooth blades. I wanted to see if I could turn some hardwood from my property into something useful for some projects I had in mind. Even though the blades I had were good, they weren't up to the task. I wasn't sure if an inexpensive blade like this would be any good at it, either. I'm giddy with delight at how quickly and easily this blade transforms rough slab wood into straight, smooth boards! I'm seeing the trees on my property in a completely different light now. br> I'm not sure how long the blade will last, but I'm not sure it matters for the price.

This is the best saw blade I've ever used, and it's a bargain
5/5

On my 14" Porter Cable, it's perfect for resawing. According to the instructions, 1/2" parges will fit, but I was able to use this 3/4" blade without rubbing and it rips through 6" of very dry cherry like butter. The finish is extremely quiet and silky smooth. For a perfect face, only a small amount of sanding is required once the settings have been dialed in. I lost a lot of material with my last blade because I had to go through my planer again to get a workable face. In the future, I'll purchase additional Timber Wolf blades.

Timber Wolf Band Saw Blade 3/4" x 93-Inch Cuts 1/2", 3 TPIbr>br>I've heard great things about Timber Wolf band saw blades, and some people swear by them
3/5

I bought the Timber Wolf band saw blade based on other people's reviews, brand name, and those who swear by them (YouTube creators). br>br>I'm working on a project, and the current band saw blade was tracking true and had no issues aside from being dull. I was in desperate need of a replacement blade. For my band saw, I went with the Timber Wolf brand. The tires were cleaned, all blade guides were backed off, a new Timber Wolf blade was installed, all adjustments were made, and the blade was tensioned. I set up my band saw according to the "Alex Snodgrass" method. The saw is being used. My saw is now making a clicking noise because the blade isn't tracking correctly. The blade is very effective at cutting. However, it oscillates back and forth and from side to side, resulting in a rougher cut than it should. I have 5 other band saw blades (no name brand that came with the saw) that do not have tracking issues (aside from being dull) and do not perform as well as the Timber Wolf brand. br>br>I am now out the money I spent on this saw blade. I can't afford a new blade right now because of my financial situation; I'll have to save. Now, because of the project I'm working on, I have to choose between using a dull blade that cuts well but doesn't wonder or make clicking noises, or using the Timber Wolf blade, which cuts well but doesn't track well, wonders, makes a clicking noise, and makes a rougher cut than it should. br>br>My two-star rating is based on the fact that I am confident there are worse blades on the market. My blade must have gotten past QC and I ended up with one that didn't meet Timber Wolf's standards.

Larger bandsaws are likely to benefit from it
4/5

While I was impressed with the cutting action and tracking for resawing on my 14" Jet 1HP Bandsaw, I don't believe my saw is powerful enough for this blade. I bought this saw with a generic 3/8" blade with 6 tpi and discovered that it cut faster but wandered horribly. I've since purchased a riser block for this saw, as well as a larger Timber Wolf blade in 1/2" size with 4tpi, which I believe is much more balanced for this saw. Larger motor saws, in my limited experience, should easily handle this blade. A narrower blade might be better for 1HP saws.

It has a good cut
5/5

Resawing birch and cedar with this blade is a favorite of mine. The 5- The blade cuts right through the 7" birch, which is green. It's also no problem to resew a 2x6" cedar plank to the 6" dimension. Read the enclosed instructions carefully, particularly the de-installation instructions. When the blade is not in use, it should be tensioned. The company's response to a blade that arrived bent was almost instantaneous - It was Amazon, as it turned out. resulting in harm.

Very well constructed - It can be honed again
5/5

When you first look at it, you can tell it's a high-quality product. On my band saw, it cut straight and true. Unfortunately, my bandsaw was out of adjustment, and the blade slipped off the top tire and slammed into a metal surface, quickly dulling it. But. I was able to resharpen this blade, all 300 teeth, in about 10 minutes using a Dremel tool and a chain saw grinding bit. After that, everything was fine. Even after nearly ruining it and resharpening it, I was able to cut through 5 1/2 inches of pressure treated pine with ease. This blade is one of my favorites. It's worth noting that it took three times as long to resharpen it. For my Dremel tool, I need four of those chainsaw sharpening bits. It's not the blade's fault.
