Questions & Answers

Will this technique work well on curves with a radius of 2" to 3"?

2" may be too small for the 1/2 blade, but 3" should suffice.

Is it possible to use cooling blocks with this product?

I don't see why they shouldn't be. If I did a lot of heavy cutting with my saw, I would invest in them.

With this blade, you can double the capacity of your saw
5/5

If you've never used a Timber Wolf bandsaw blade, get one now and you'll never go back to the big box store for another. You'll be amazed at how easily this blade allows your saw to cut through even the toughest woods. Smoother, faster, and more precise cuts are now possible. READ THE PAPER INCLUDED IN THE KNIFE. It instructs on how to tension your blade properly. Take their advice and oil your blades (regardless of who makes the blade). Finally, I'd like to offer some guidance. Sharpening your own blades is a great way to save money. Any brand of tool, such as a Dremmel rotary tool, and the appropriate stone are all that is required. It only takes about fifteen minutes to restore an old blade to its former glory. It takes about five times to sharpen a blade. Believe me when I say this: It's worthwhile to learn how, and Timer Wolf explains it on the bandsaw blade wisdom sheet that comes with this blade.

I had previously purchased a generic 1/2" 3 TPI Powertec hook tooth blade for my vintage '50s Craftsman band saw because it was $15 less and I don't use my bandsaw very often
5/5

It could crosscut fine, but it couldn't rip for anything without bogging down my engine, even when it was brand new. Resawing is another option. Forget about it. As a result, I cut down on how much I used my bandsaw. To get ripping capability on my saw, I assumed I'd have to replace the motor with a more expensive 2 or 3 HP one. While browsing, I came across some reviews for this blade and decided to give it a try because some people have found that the problem wasn't with their saw or motor, but with a blade that wasn't up to the job. In terms of ripping and resawing, it appears to be far superior to the Powertec so far. I'm going to start putting together a store. I'm building a fence for my saw and putting the blade through its paces by resawing some oak for cabinet doors, but I don't think I'll have any problems. I should have just bought this one in the first place to save myself the trouble!.

In my case, the issue is with the blades rather than the saw
5/5

I have an old craftsman bandsaw, and after failing to get a good result with a few other cheaper blades, I decided to try a more expensive blade. I was under the impression that I required a newer model bandsaw. This blade turned my old bandsaw into a new bandsaw, much to my delight. Additionally, I was able to save a significant amount of money. Good quality saw blades, such as this one, are something I believe in.

When it comes to re-cutting, this is a fantastic, straight cut
5/5

sawing. Just re- On an old 12in craftsman bandsaw, I sawed 4/4 x 5in curly maple, and this blade handled it easily! After planing, I ended up with two 3/8in thick maple pieces using very little back pressure. There's a YouTube video comparing this blade to a wood slicer, and the timber wolf has a lot of trouble with it. I'm not sure why he had so much trouble, but that wasn't my experience. If I had to make one criticism, it would be that the weld could be cleaned up a bit. This does not affect the performance, but it is an issue. The back of the blade is polished, but the area around the weld is rough. This did not appear to have an impact on performance, and it only takes a few minutes with some sand paper to make it as smooth as the rest of the blade. Finally, I was able to re-enter my information. I used the 1/2 blade on the 3/8in setting without lowering the pressure and it worked perfectly.

When he didn't show up, I went out and bought a replacement
5/5

Because mine didn't arrive, I purchased a replacement from a different vendor. Despite the fact that I did not receive this blade, I give it 5 STARS! It's late at night. This one and the $17 Olson 12" x 80" x 3TPI blade were the picks of the day. The Olson blade would bind up all the time (despite the fact that I didn't have any instructions with the Olson blade). ) but this one cuts through oak like butter and I can't tell I'm cutting when I push pine or cedar through because I followed the instructions. Now I'm a full-fledged sawdust addict! I can't seem to stop felling trees and gathering limbs to run through my bandsaw! I have a million planks of live edge wood everywhere in my shop and even in my house, including oak, applewood, elm, cedar, maple, and whatever else I can get my hands on. So far, I haven't made much more than a gazillion planks of wood, but it's been fantastic! Purple grain, bright green, orange, and black to gold to purple again have all been discovered. It's all so lovely. I'll make something soon, and it'll most likely be a combination of everything I've found that's pretty! Anyway, get one of these blades and say goodbye to your friends and family for a while because your bandsaw will be your only companion.

I've had a lot of trouble with my bandsaw
5/5

I've been working with wood for 30 years and have never had much luck with my bandsaw, despite my best efforts. I could never get a straight cut when I was sawing, so I would always end up planning the board to make it even, wasting wood. I'm making some really cool chopping boards for Christmas gifts this year, and they require a lot of bandsaw cuts, so I bought the Timber Wolf blades with little expectation of getting a better result, but boy, was I surprised. It didn't come in a branded box, but it did come with instructions on how to low tension the blade to get it true and make clean straight cuts, so it wasn't my skills or the bandsaw (20 year old Sears), but the blades I'd been using and how I'd tensioned them. The product is excellent, but the instructions are even better.

PAM is what you need
5/5

For my old craftsman band-saw/sander, this is a fantastic blade. BUT. Follow the lubrication and tensioning instructions to the letter. To make some Christmas trays, I resawn white oak and walnut. It really slowed down after about 5 trays of sawing at 5" for about 18" in length. I assumed it was the saw, which is at least 50 years old. Then! I carefully read the directions. What a strange coincidence! I cleaned the blades and used PAM, which helped a lot, but I still needed a new blade. I changed the order of two items.

"Best bandsaw blade on the market," as other reviewers have stated
5/5

I recently restored a Walker Turner saw from the 1940s, which I intend to use primarily as a resaw. I had a couple of new blades on hand, which I was using to set up and adjust everything. I couldn't get a satisfactory result; all of my attempts resulted in wavy cuts, and I was concerned that the saw, as good as it was at the time, wasn't up to the task. But, before I gave up, I figured it was worth a shot with a blade I'd used on a professional level bad saw in the past, so I ordered the Timber Wolf. br>When the blade arrived, I set the guides and tension, mounted the resaw fence, and cut a piece of Maple 4"x24" for a 1/4" cut; it came out nearly perfect! I can't say enough good things about these blades; they are well worth the money!.
