Questions & Answers

Is there a keyhole in this just in case the power or WiFi goes out?

Our Smart Lock replaces your current deadbolt lock! As a result, you can still open the door with the same key.

If my door handle and deadbolt are one single piece rather than two separate pieces, how do I install them?

It all depends on how your door is set up on the inside. You might be able to use this unit if your interior door has a single deadbolt in addition to the interior door handle. The SimpliSafe unit replaces the inside door bolt turner, allowing it to turn the lock when the WiFi system instructs it to. The keypad is simply mounted to the door or door frame on the outside of the door. It communicates with the WiFi system, which in turn controls the deadbolt, which has a keyed side on the outside of the door and can still receive your key even if the WiFi is down or the SimpliSafe Lock's batteries are low. If your door handle and deadbolt are identical, you may need to purchase and install a second deadbolt in order for the SimpliSafe Lock to work.

Is it possible to lock and unlock my Apple Watch with the simplisafe app?

Individual locks are not supported by the watch app; only arming and disarming options are available. The iPhone can be used to lock and unlock individual doors. When disarming your system, you might have the option of setting all of your locks to unlock.

What's the best way to get extra adapters?

We are unable to send individual adapters due to logistical constraints. However, if you're missing one, we can send you a complete replacement.

It works well, has a nice appearance, and is simple to put together
5/5

I've had no problems with my SimpliSafe alarm system in over four years, but when it came time to buy a Smart Lock, I wasn't sure if SimpliSafe had the best. After some research, I discovered that if you have a SimpliSafe alarm system and the $24. If you're willing to pay $99 per month for monitoring, this is the only Smart Lock you should consider purchasing because: br>br>1) It's only $99, which is less than half the price of other Smart Locks, and it doesn't require you to download another app to your phone. br>br>2) It is aesthetically pleasing, both the lock and the profile of the lock, which is thin and minimalist in design and uses 1/2 of your existing deadbolt. The keypad is also very attractive. (Photos of the Smart Lock and keypad are available upon request. ) )br>br>3) It's incredibly simple to put together. Although I watched a setup video for this Smart Lock on YouTube, the package includes a step-by-step guide that will take you 15 minutes to complete. It takes 20 minutes to set up everything. A Philips screwdriver is the only tool you'll need. A long piece of tape is included to hold your existing deadbolt on the outside of the door while you install the lock, as well as washers, optional screws, and other items. br>br>4) It's simple to integrate with your existing SimpliSafe alarm system. To add the Smart Lock to your existing system, use your keypad, and an icon will appear on your phone app to lock and unlock your door. You can set the lock to automatically lock after 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes have passed since the door was closed. The Smart Lock also locks automatically when you turn on your alarm in Home or Away mode. The lock will unlock when you disarm your alarm via your phone app while in Away mode. br>br>Please keep in mind that this is only for single cylinder deadbolts. I bought two of these Smart Locks, one to replace the deadbolt on the front door and the other to replace a non-deadbolt lock on the garage door that leads into the house. I started with the deadbolt because the instructions specifically state that this is only for deadbolt locks and not for other types of locks on the first page. (For more information on the different types of single cylinder deadbolts, see the photo. ).

Although it is not a stand-alone device, the product is functional

I didn't see anywhere that said you had to have the hub keypad and pay a monthly subscription to use it, so be cautious.

I couldn't get it to work for me
3/5

I have a Simplisafe home security system that I really enjoy using. I'm on the second floor of my new condo, but the main entrance is a flight of stairs down. I needed a lock that I could operate from the second floor. This appeared to be the perfect solution. There was no mention of a $10 monthly surcharge in the online information. You had to use your smartphone for this ability, even back then. If someone comes to my front door, I want to be able to open the lock by pressing a button on the keypad. It appears to be a smart lock's most basic function. br>br>When the lock arrived, I had my doubts that it would meet my needs after reading the enclosed materials. Before I went to the trouble of installing it, I wanted some assurances. svc. svc. svc. svc. svc. s Because the representative said it could be programmed to do what I needed, I went ahead and installed it. br>br>Once installed, I couldn't get it to work the way I wanted it to, and this time the customer service department came to the rescue. I was told that the enhanced monitoring plan was the only way I could do it. As a result, it has been uninstalled and is being returned to the company. On the plus side, it's attractive and simple to put together. Simplisafe appears to have made a rare blunder by marketing a smart lock that is difficult to operate remotely. Maybe my requirements are one-of-a-kind, but I'm not convinced. If the next generation came out, I'd consider this lock again. This problem is resolved by number two.

It doesn't seem to work as well as I had hoped
3/5

UPDATE: I'm giving this a one-star rating. The following is the reason: When I got home tonight, I couldn't get into my house because I couldn't open the door. Nothing worked after I tried everything, including remotely rebooting my wifi router and refreshing the base station. I called SimpliSafe and was placed on hold for an extended period of time with no response. Fortunately, a family member who lives nearby had a key to the house. When I got inside, I used the keypad and the app to cycle the lock. I'm not sure why it stopped working, but having an electronic lock that I can't rely on and have to hide a key outside defeats the purpose of having one. I've only had this lock for about 6 months. If it's failing now, I'm sure it won't last. SS has let me down big time. OLD REVIEW: br>br>NEW REVIEW: I have a SimpliSafe security system and wanted to be able to control the lock on my front door from afar. The SimpliSafe door lock is very effective. It was simple to put together and appears to be of good quality. My only minor quibble is that the door codes are the same as the alarm system codes. In some ways, it makes sense, but I'd prefer to have separate codes that I could give out just for the door. I'd recommend screwing the keypad to the wall/door, as the tape attachment doesn't seem to hold up well in extreme heat (or, more likely, cold). This lock is required if you have a SimpliSafe system.

It's ideal if you don't want anyone to enter your home except you
3/5

It's been less than a month since I installed this lock. I'm about to remove it and replace it with my traditional lock while I look for something else because I've had so many problems with it. br>br>The auto lock feature tries to lock the door even if it isn't closed. The lock will jam if the door isn't properly closed, such as if you leave it cracked to make multiple trips to the car. You'll have to move the inside plate back to its proper position, or else it'll be at a diagonal on the inside of the door, unlock it all the way, and start over. The plastic "adapter" piece feels flimsy, and that's probably why I was locked out of my house with the keys in my hand because the lock wouldn't unlock. This isn't the case with the keypad, the app, or the key. I could feel the lock go all the way to locked, but it wouldn't unlock completely. I was worried that I'd have to break down my door. My house may be secure, but what good is security if I can't get inside?.
