While adhesive is stronger, hook and loop is way more durable. When I clamped the pieces down before using them, I found that it helped hold the pieces in place. As a result, the adhesion was improved. The system works well as long as you don't move it a lot, but not moving it so much defeats the entire purpose of it. I probably wouldn't bother with this place again.
A patch I wanted to use on my backpack lacked Velcro so I had to return it. Although multiple removals have been attempted during the few months of use, no adhesion has been released. We were able to cut the Velcro in the proper shape without any difficulty. I appreciate how well this product works.
The foam mattress is used (rather than cushions) to keep the chair from slipping off for my neighbor, who had tried everything but this kept them on the couch. The thick Velcro strips performed much better than the thin ones.
The best feature of this product is the hook-and-loop action, which is extremely strong. There are several types of Velcro, all with varying degrees of stickiness. THERE IS NO GARAGE QUALITY HOLD ON THIS.
The adhesive sides fit on any flat surface very well and the sides are not going to loosen once they are in place so make sure you put it where you want it.

It was a complete waste of money since I didn't use this product to tame down the corners of my floor rugs. The Velcro was easy to separate itself, but it was nearly impossible to remove the paper so I could use the sticky part. It's not a good day for him.
It would seem that these are just what I need to keep my cutout remnants for highly trafficked areas in place. It saved me over $100 by not buying a heavy rug that may or may not have been heavy.
