Questions & Answers

After it has dried, is it possible to remove it?

It is not easy, if it is possible Rather than becoming a temporary coating on the wire, the liquid tape becomes a permanent coating.

Can I glue an iPad usb charger to the box (my daughters lose one or the other all the time)? Also, will it be safe for my daughters?

It is not used to cover exposed wiring rather it is used to cover exposed wiring at points where plastic has worn nor does it completely cover. A small amount of clear silicon caulk should be applied to the box to secure the charger. As a result, you will be able to hold the two parts together without damaging one of them, and if necessary, you can remove the caulking quickly and easily.

What kind of connection or seal does this form. I thought this might be useful for outside speaker wire, and how long does it take for the glue ?

It is best used outdoors for outdoor applications because, when applied according to the directions, Star brite Liquid Electric Tape provides a watertight seal. A second coat can be applied after 24 hours, but the product will be completely cured in 24 hours. You have ten

Is it a good solution for covering enamal wire that has been scuffed?

If you were to use it for that, it would probably work well

When the can is opened, it will not last
3/5

The liquid tape I purchased does a decent job, but once you open the can and let the contents out into the air, there is only so much you can do. I used the can for only a couple applications and am now forced to dispose of it. As the entire contents solidify, it can be compared to one big There's a good chance you'll have a lot of wasted product on your hands unless you have a plan to use the entire contents of the box within a short span of time. As advertised, does it work right out of the box? The answer is yes. Once the can is opened, does it last? That is not the case. This is not a product I would recommend or buy again.

While it does what it claims, it does so in a limited way
5/5

The app is as advertised so I give it five stars, but you may not like it as much as I do. Having never used electrical tape in a hot environment, I prefer liquid tape as an alternative.

The first time I used liquid tape was in a company I ran for seventeen years, and Apple USA supplied our company with units that It was over a year ago that I first tried this product, and I have been using it ever since, especially when I need something waterproof. My usual brand ( with the clear plastic container ) is thicker and won't drip when used with the brush, so I prefer that one. When you get half way through the other brand, the product is too thick, and you need to thin it so every last bit is applied. This brand is way runner, and you need at least two coats, however I love having the clear on hand for when my other colors run My favorite way to thin out liquid electrical tape is by using Zippo lighter fluid. With this brand, you need to be extraordinarily careful because it can get so messy so quickly, while using the other brand, there is no dripping at all. The thinner product does run much better through the syringe, but it makes a huge mess when I use it with a brush only. The squeeze bottle is also an excellent choice for me, as the fine point allows me to better control the application of this product, so I am more likely to purchase this brand. It is recommended to test the two most common manufacturers of liquid tape and find the one that works best In case you want to use the brush that comes with any liquid tape you use, save the old caps, cut off the brush, so you can drop the old cap on the exposed bottle so you don't have to twist the old cap every time you need the brush for liquid tape. When you mess around with the project, just cover the bottle to keep the product from drying up as quickly as you would expect. * I also place a small magnet on all my new bottles to hold the second cap while I move the bottles around, which keeps it in place. As a precaution, I also apply a fine layer of petroleum jelly or dielectric grease on the bottle's threads to prevent the cap from welding When I get a chance, I'll post pictures, just in case I didn't demonstrate myself clearly. I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

This product is great for applying in small areas when using the right In order to secure the camera and gimbal cables on my DJI Mavic Pro drone, I needed a product like this (liquid electrical tape)
5/5

It is not possible to get hold of the original sealant/glue. In the beginning, applying the product in a confined area proved challenging (it was thick and goopy and tended As a result, I tried using a small paint brush, tooth pick, and ear swab without much success. Although the product is difficult to apply without making a mess, it delivers a professional appearance (for example, it looks like it was manufactured). A 3cc IM syringe with a 16 gauge needle was the final attempt. I appreciated the Liquid Tape's smooth flow, which produced a functional and professional look!.

Easy to use but not intuitive The process can be extremely messy and cumbersome
3/5

A small splice on a low voltage wire that runs across the patio cover and into the detached garage required this stuff to be waterproofed. Like rubber cement, I expected this stuff to be thick. This isn't true in the slightest. drips all over the place and is really runny. In this case, you have to apply a very thin coat (and even then I managed to get If you don't use it right away, then it will thicken up fast, so replace it immediately As the coat builds up in thickness, coat the wires every 5 minutes, building up layers of In my case, the challenge was to sit on the roof of my house for half an hour to build up a layer I believe do not know how long it will last, so I cannot comment on it. To summarize it does not work very well and it is messy. Definitely not something I'd recommend or use again, but I believe it will get the job done.

Electrical tape does not conform to the shape of the machine like this An infestation of mice chewed on the insulation off the wiring harness under the hood of my automobile, exposing several Thanks to the copper, it was unharmed
5/5

If I replaced the harness it would cost hundreds of dollars. However, for just a few bucks I could add a coat of liquid electrical tape, and the wires would be This is because it moulds itself to the wires, so it's more water-resistant Electrical tape is not as tight as regular This bottle was extremely difficult to open, and that is my only complaint. Due to how tight it was, I had to use a jar opener.

Is a tape that can be used for the same purposes The grip is not sticky, yet it improves the Here are some of the things I have done with it Low-cost way to seal your garden The best way to deal with voltage wiring connections is to cushion and insulate metal tool handles, replace worm tool handles, make custom plugs for small water lines, make resting feet for slide rules, and glue down the ends of regular electrical tape
5/5

To prevent scratches and poking, cover sharp shelf ends with soft plastic, fill gaps in the door insulation of an old refrigerator, and make a soft bumper for a tool box lid to keep it.
