It's impossible for me to know! It's my fault. I also tried to use the tape to seal the edges of 4 x 8' sheets of foam board. The tape also didn't work very well.
I don't think it'll stick over the long run, but you can try it.
As a result, I have never used this tape to wrap asbestos pipes, but judging from its qualities and those of asbestos pipe, I would say no, it would not work for this purpose. There is nothing more sticky and thin than this tape. In my case, I used it to join sheets of polypropylene I got a good result from it, though it would have been better if the plastic had been clean all the time.
My knowledge of the matter is limited. I can tell you, though, that a standard packing tape gun will There are too many edges on the tape, so it folds over at the edges.

My poly vapor barrier had some rips in the crawl space, so I used this to repair those rips. first tried applying small patches of the poly material and fixing them with Liquid Nails poly adhesive - it didn't work and I had to start again - There was some adhesive on the card, but it wasn't very strong. My goal was to peel away all the adhesive and re-stick it This tape was used to secure the patches I put it to the test and it held everything very well after one Once I have followed up on this review in a couple more months, I will confirm that the patches remain.
I find that it's really sticky when first applied, which is great. Taking it off and reapplying for straightness works well even after a few times. In the case of rain and/or humidity, this does not work well. In the event of humidity getting into the taped sections, they are all liable to come loose and break like paper. It is okay to store the tape in it's original packaging if it is kept out of the weather. If the product is exposed to any weather, it becomes worthless really fast.
Has a good degree of adhesion and is four times as sticky as regular clear box packing tape, but it does not hold up to weather as well The first winter we lived in Maine, I built a barn and wrapped it in blue housewrap and taped the edges and flashed the windows with Weathermate tape, but was out of tape. This is something I bought at my local hardware store and used it over the winter. However, it came loose toward the spring. It is the Weathermate that I recommend for the same price.
**Be aware that the tape will stick to you very strongly. It can be very painful to try to tear it with your teeth or get it stuck on your face (don't ask me how I know it).
I was disappointed that it didn't hold as well considering its price. As a result of the tape, the seams were clean and dry. After a few weeks the tape seemed to have bonded well. However, when I checked again, I found about 50% of the tape had come undone. Perhaps moisture is finding its way through the plastic despite the fact that it is dry from the ground. Although this tape is expensive, it does not hold up as well as I would have expected.
It has large voids with no adhesive. In the end, we realized that the bubbles we kept seeing were not bubbles at all, but rather voids on the tape with no adhesive. It looks to me that the tape started out as a thin sheet of adhesive plastic that was cut into smaller rolls and then resold. In general, I'm very upset that I wasted my money on this.
Easy to use but very difficult to navigate. It shreds very easily when you try to roll it. After you cut off the strip, be sure to fold over the end. I used it to tape the seams on bubble insulation in my workshop. Almost immediately after it became loose, it started falling off.
The stick has a strong adhesive and is very thin, but very For cutting, scissors are better than knives or a knife blade because it cannot easily be torn apart by hand. Its generous width makes installation easier too. I suggest cutting the short pieces first from the long ones before they have the chance to wind back up and stick back onto the roll if you know how many short pieces you need. A temporary fix was to stick the end of the first piece to the pvc pipe, then unroll a few feet, and cut to the length(s) needed By preventing the cut ends from sticking back on the roll, it will save you time if you are making many cuts and installing one.
It was easy to use and exactly what we needed for the job. There were no problems with using the tape as some have mentioned and it held up well!.
