What is the best way to use it as a thermic insulator for external ducts of an air conditioning system?

I would not recommend it as insulator since it is aluminum with a strong adhesive, but it is not insulating. It may help to know that.

Is it possible to use this to strengthen a RC that has a soft body?

I would not use it on anything that goes into the air and requires structural reinforcement. If you are referring to a body for an RC car, it should work perfectly. To illustrate, (i.e. ) It can be used to dress up landing gears or ordinance underneath planes.
