My guess is that it won't happen. As a rule, masking tape is made with a mild adhesive that makes it easy to remove. As this stuff is very sticky, it could pull away the paint under it. This will happen especially if the paint underneath is still wet.

I have only used this application indoors so far but so far it's performing quite well. I noticed that the tape remained as adherent as ever (to the vinyl and to the metal) and that it performed exactly as expected. There are a few pieces on my wall that have some stress on them after stretching.
I really like the tape on this roll. The roll is 3" wide and has excellent adhesion. It is comparable to black electrical tape, except it is a bit wider. It is similar to black electrical tape except it is 3" wide. Despite sticking wherever you want, you can also pull it off with no problem.
