The material is a dark grey mastic that is thick and sticky. The paint I used was applied to all of my ductwork that I had access to. I was able to solve the problem. My life may give me an opportunity to get more and seal more ductwork in the future. That's right, it's pretty It is messy to work with mastic. The best way to seal ducts is with silicone sealant. This will improve airflow in your HVAC and it does not come cheap, so wear dirty clothes and put aside an entire day for the labor. Taking on DIY tasks like this is kind of my thing. It wouldn't be worth the trouble to trust someone else to handle such a task since they may apply it too thin, not realize that you should apply a second layer after the first sets, or ignore the need to utilize tape to create a better bedding layer.

I gave it Five Stars for the product. But I have to ask, how could they send a flimsy plastic bucket containing mastic through the mail without taping the lid shut and covering the box with bubble wrap so that it was protected from damage in transit? There was a squirt of liquid all over my duct fittings and box lid when I opened the package. My first choice would have been to send it back as soon as I got it for a replacement had I not needed it today.

It was a good price for what I got when I redid my whole ductwork Old foil tape that had peeled off a long time ago let a lot of air escape from the conditioned space. I am still left with 1/4 of the bucket after I finished! I did not see or feel any fibers in there even though it says it is fiber reinforced. of the peanut butter is like a thick paint used with a cheap brush. plan to reuse your paint brush in the future, then drop it in water so that the mastic won't dry. Don't leave the mastic on the brush overnight since it will ruin it.

It is an excellent product but beware that it may open during shipment as mine did. It was delivered to me damaged by a damaged container, which must have broken during the last part of the delivery. The container was not completely dry, so it may have broken in transit. My container turned out to be clean and re-sealed after I cleaned up the mess. In the same shipping box there were a few other items that got damaged, but nothing catastrophic. Considering returning for an exchange but truth be told, it wouldn't have been worth the hassle. This was probably an isolated incident, but do keep this possibility in mind.

An insulated house made of foam. As well, I noted that the seals were cracked and leaking. I clean the mold off of the ducts using a brush and bleach, while wearing a mask and gloves, since only the outside and outside walls were affected. After that I used a 2" paint brush to brush this product on the joints and it did the job great! A small attic dehumidifier was installed in my attic, and the drain was connected to the furnace overflow pipe, so I never had.

The product was ordered, arrived quickly, and exactly It is used to seal up the metal duct work of homes. I had no trouble sealing it, it worked great. You can get excellent air flow heater or air conditioner. The air leak test was performed shortly after application and there was no leak detected. It's a product I'll buy again if I ever need to, and I recommend it. I noticed a significant reduction in run time on the unit, so I If heat and cool needs to be done simultaneously, this should be a time saver.
