Using pipe dope in joints only works if you take everything apart, dry, apply to the threads, then assemble everything again Put everything together.

This product dries very fast if it gets on your hands. It is almost impossible to get it off your hands. No matter if it is high or low pressure, gas, air or water, I have never had to wait for it to cure. There is no thread sealant that I have ever encountered that is better

When it comes to water pipes that you don't really want to take apart or refrigeration piping and fittings, this stuff works perfectly. If it were to be used to grease a fan, I wouldn't.

The stuff should not leak after setting up, so don't screw up and not line things up, as once it is set up and sets up, it is a real pain to take it back. If you have water leaks and refrigeration, the stuff should not leak.

I enjoy this site a lot. Unlike other stuff, it works wherever there is a failure. I just want to point out that this is a semi permanent product, so if you have to take it off and then replace it, it is a good idea to clean and reapply it. There was some damage in the shipping, as the product was tossed around during shipping. A few days have passed since I sent my email but I have not heard back. My system is up and running right now as I did 4 split a/c pipes, as well as extensions and other seals, with this tool. It worked exactly like I expected, as I was able to get the system entirely vacuumed as well. I really liked the way this stuff worked out!.

It's been around for a long time

Since I started in the HVAC industry in 1981, I haven't found a better substitute. I can just about seal any leak I come across on threads with this stuff. I highly recommend it.

One of the best products I've ever used. At the flared connections of a mini split system I had several leaks. By carefully applying the oil to the exterior threads only of the flared fittings, I was able to permanently end the leak.
