Questions & Answers
In the form of foam, it has a low expansion rate. As far as insulation goes, it works as most spray foams do. It would be better if a professional did the spraying if the project was large because the coat would get quite thick.
To prevent leaks from accumulating on top of this stuff, it is designed to fill in openings so that it can expand and seal. If the ceiling and flange are in contact or if there is a gap between the two, tape the foil ducting. If the flange can be loosened to create a space, fill it, and reattach it. You should be able to use this product after tightening.
As the name implies, the product is not really removable. If you apply it, it bonds to whatever surface you put it on. To stop drafting, you might want to consider a more permanent solution. I really like how it works.
I don't see an issue with that. Most of the time, foam does not expand much, so trimming is not required. As an added bonus, it does not stain as much as yellow foam.
