I'm sure there's a way to use this in a clever way. It's too liquidy, sticks to your hands and is difficult to remove, and it doesn't stay put very well, particularly in ceiling applications. I've switched to tubed ones, which are much more convenient. Spray foam, on the other hand, was the best and most convenient option. Use the foam if your local laws allow it; it's much easier and cleaner. Before making a decision, check with your local fire marshal or fire department to make sure you're in compliance.
