Questions & Answers

Do you know of a solvent that I can use to remove old pliobond from metal?

You can use Acetone to achieve what you want, but you should be very cautious if you do so on non-metal surfaces, as it is a very powerful solvent that can ruin most plastics.

Okay, so what do we have for sale? Do you recommend ruscoe pliobond or goodyear The Goodyear products I used a few decades ago were A bit less so with the newer ruscoe. ?

Rusco Pliobond is what we are talking about.

Do you think this will ?

There is a statement on the front of the package that says "For rubber, leather, canvas, steel, fiberglass, aluminum, wood, and glass". LISTED ON THE BACK IS "Pliobond is a unique formulation of synthetic rubber and resin that produces a permanent, flexible bond over most materials."

A substantial amount of material is leaking out of all sides of this tube, making the product useless
3/5

It had come highly recommended by others so I was interested in using it to repair a fishing rod. The tube itself leaks product all over it I found the whole experience disappointing to say the least. I wanted to contact Amazon or the seller, but found no way The money should be refunded to me.

The one I always turn to If you are using unusual materials, glue will be needed
5/5

Has a hard time giving up Is as firm as steel. What a shocker! Where is this information? Why is it not more widely My friends told me about it a few months ago, but I have been using glue from all sorts for the last five years One hundred years. In searching their website you'll notice that Pliobond is a serious industrial strength contact adhesive, with a strong concentration in industry (where it's the adhesive of choice in certain industries) and not marketed to the general public. Be sure to follow the instructions when submitting your application. All reviews that were poor on this account have been rejected. Both surfaces need to be coated with cement, and they need to be dried until The second coat should be applied if the first is absorbed. Re-apply the cream lightly You should coat the Pieces should be held in place for at least 10 minutes I have fifteen This is what happened A glue is used to keep them together. It takes about a half day for the bond to reach its full strength. As far as I know, this holds like iron and sticks to almost anything (I still haven't found anything it won't stick to). The glue can be used for gluing stuff to glass surfaces. In the beginning, I was going to use it to glue down peeling leather coverings on antique cameras, but I'm now using it for In the down side, the manufacturer says it has a six month shelf life. My tube has been around longer than that and is still OK, but it's certainly not something you'd keep around for years (I have some that are 20 years old). There are still 7 epoxy cans that I use regularly in large metal cans. Additionally, it is a solvent-based glue, which means that it should not be used in large quantities without ample If you were to use an ounce tube I doubt you would run into that problem unless your entire tube was contained inside a closed environment. For kids only I hope you won't sniff the I love it. A comparison of tried most of the usual contact cements, like 3M spray adhesive, but they are toys compared to this one.
The summary The pros are If instructions are followed, anything can be stuck to anything forever. The cons are A short shelf life is required.

Concrete in the form of a liquid
3/5

The string odor is uncomfortable, the liquid is very thin, I bought this rather than Goo as a suggestion, it is more available, but I am going back to Goo, because it is less odorous, on the viscous side, and.

The Well of Bond
4/5

I liked the bonding properties of this product and the drying time was not too long. The smell was fishy at first but dissipated quickly. This product is very thin and you have to shake it to mix, and the tube is so large that it kind of pours out of the applicator tip when you shake it. Only use a toothpick if you must do detail work.

It worked well for mounting a new gasket to the OEM cage of an air filter on my Yamaha Warrior 350 using Pliobond adhesive
5/5

In the guidelines for my UNI brand air filter, it advised using this adhesive to mount a new gasket to the OEM cage. As of now, this product hasn't broken down when in contact with gasoline or small amounts of fuel. While the odor is a bit strong, it does not cause any more problems when exposed to moisture. I recommend using this in a well ventilated environment when Be sure to knead the tube before using since this product separates in the tube after sitting. This is normal, so just mix before using. My experience with this product was great, and I would purchase it again in the future.
