In fact, yes. The ratio will depend on what kind of project you're working on We are on a pathway, on a driveway. Stabilizing wood knife scales with it was our purpose.

Can I get the resin without the catalyst?/Can I get this with the catalyst only?

As for the separate oz, you can choose to mix it with 1 gal of resin to get a gallon of resin combined. For handhardening wood, split your resin in half and use half the catalyst, if you aren't going to harden many boards at one time. The shelf life of the resin is reduced to six months when the resin and catalyst are mixed.

The commercially available stabilizing resins I've used to harden punky wood have all worked well. As a result, TMI resin is probably my favorite from the many I've used, and it forms a dense, hard, and durable finished product. I'll continue to buy as I need it.

I have bought two quart sized containers

Save your time on the quart size. So far, 25 gallons have been used. Stabilizing wood for projects was something I started doing a few years ago. The gallon is best. Don't waste time on the quart size. Keeping it in a dark, cool place is best. When you cook them in the toaster oven, they don't smell too bad.
